Flower Fall Original Acrylic Painting NFS
Flower Fall is another sensuous, colorful painting from my series,
Suggestions. I am starting with an abstract expressionist surface and
then looking for forms that appear in the paint. This time flowers that
looked like they were falling began to appear so I emphasized that
motion and added a few more flowers. I am especially pleased with the
subtle contrast in this one that presents a serene mood.

Life with the Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Painting is such a difficult pursuit. One minute it is great and then what you thought was great doesn't seem so great after all. The ups and downs can be very hard on a person's mental outlook. Years ago a friend that worked in an asylum said artists live on the edge of sanity. They walk a tight rope that most people don't understand. He was also a painter.
Sometimes I get so involved in a painting that it becomes too important. I always back away then and say it is only a painting. It may seem like a matter of life or death to me, but it is only a painting.
The other day I was having such a difficult time that it was getting me down. Sometimes I think I am losing my mind but I have too good a sense of humor to let that happen. I asked Clyde if he ever felt like he was losing his mind. He said in order to lose a mind you have to have one first.
Okay. Good point! I'm laughing again!
