So pleased to sell another print of Richmond on the James to a great Georgia patron! This certainly is a very popular painting from my Skyline Beauty series that I hope to get back to soon! Right now I am working on a demo Youtube and new Blue Ridge paintings. I always love to return to the Blue Ridge for inspiration and the painting experience is different every time.
The atmosphere is so elusive and the constant push and pull of warm and cool colors always mistify me. I agree with Claude Monet that we can't really reproduce nature due to the constantly changing atmosphere but it is a great experience to try. It is always, first and foremost a creation of mine. I express myself in my work. I do not labor over nature.
I love nature and use it in my paintings, not the other way around!
