Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

A lot of people believe there is a sock eating monster in the dryer.  How can one sock disapear? When I was in school an Art student made a great claymation video of the monster poking its head in the dryer for socks.

I think there is an eye glasses monster that steals my glasses.  I don't want to get one of those chains but I may have to.  I only allow them to be in one of two places so that's how I know there is a thief.

I mentioned this to Clyde and he said if that's true then there are a lot of strange little sock creatures wearing broken glasses running around the house looking for hiding places.

I'm sure he is right!

My illustrations for Fiddling at Midnight's Farm House are coming along.  I have the first stage of eleven and am working on number twelve today.  So far Train Spirits is Clyde's favorite.  I am so glad the publisher loves the cover illustration.  I am excited about how it will look with the text.  Hope to hear from her soon.

Well, my main computer woes are over for now but my Instagram feed on my phone seems to be locked.  I have no idea what to do with it.

When our young friend was helping us with our computer he was appalled to learn our computer is five years old.  We updated it a few years ago but that doesn't seem to matter much these days.

Clyde said one of these days if a gadget lasts six weeks it will be time to have a big party - a retirement party.

Sounds about right to me.

I am so glad I can use our computer again. The virus was caught in the back up system so we just had to replace that.

While the computer was being scanned I was working on a lap top that came real close to becoming a frisbee hurtling out the window at 90mph.

I kept an eye on the scan and it finally finished and there were instructions on what to do next.

I ran to the next room and told Clyde the computer was giving us instructions.

He gave me instructions instead.  Shoot the computer and put it out of our misery.

That was tempting.  Good thing we don't have a gun.

I don't have a lot to say today.  I have been so busy and I still have a lot to do.  I was literally stuck to this chair.  It is wood and we prefer it without a pillow.  I was sweating so much that I was quite stuck.  I finally gave in and turned on the air conditioner.  I always prefer an open window but this summer is quite a scorcher.  I hope I can find time to paint tomorrow.

Monday I was working on some computer chores in the evening when I started to hear some thunder.  It was very soft so I kept on until there was a loud crack and I said, okay, I hear you! Time to turn off this time sucker.

Clyde was watching TV.  I joined him and mentioned I had turned off the Trojan Horse.  The storm really got going and Clyde said he hoped the computer would be okay.  I told him I turned it off and un-plugged it.  Did he want me to put it under the bed?

He said yes, just like a little puppy.

I wonder if The Bird Man is starting to crack.  He is outside every evening studying the various populations around our house.  Maybe I should take his binoculars away for a while.  LOL!

Before I tell this story, I need to say we live very close to the Fire Station.

Tuesday, I finally figured out something on Youtube that has been driving me crazy!  I have such a hard time with that site.  I will always remember the time our young computer friend couldn't help me with one problem and I finally figured that one out!  Proud day!

I was so excited that I ran outside to tell Clyde. I told him that after all the time I put in trying to figure it out, my success seemed like such a great accomplishment!

He said a great accomplishment would be to see the computer soaring over the Fire Station, gaining acceleration, and landing on Pluto without any assistance from NASA.

Clyde doesn't like computers.  No kidding!  Right?

I don't think I am going to seize the beach today but I will get a lot of work done and get out and walk.  Such beautiful weather!  I hope I can get to the beach at Claytor Lake on Wednesday.  No time tomorrow but the water is calling and I will get out there soon with my new inner tube float.  Looking forward to it!

The other day I almost made a serious driving error with Clyde in the car.  I guess I am one of those people that can't chew gum and walk at the same time.  I never make these crazy errors when I am by myself and I have never made this one.

Yesterday I mentioned the error to Clyde and said I hoped I wasn't getting Alzheimers.  He said the error I almost made didn't seem like Alzheimers.

I replied that maybe it is Stupidheimers.  In that case I may have started that disease many years ago.

I am trying to cut back on my workaholic ways a little so I have put myself on the clock.  I am counting all the hours I work in a day and see if I can work in more fun time - especially on the week end like normal people.

Whoops!  I used the "N" word!  I know I can't really use that word when I am talking about myself.  Oh well.  Some people go crazy.  Maybe a crazy artist can aspire to be normal.  There's that word  again!

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

Every once in a while we have some crazy electrical problem to deal with.  A few days ago the fluorescent  light over the kitchen sink went out. It was out for two days and I assumed the bulb had died.  I hadn't gotten around to getting another one, when, on the morning of the third day it came back on and stayed on.

I called Clyde at work and thanked him for getting up in the middle of the night and getting a new one at Walmart and replacing the old bulb for me. 

He said welcome and to please call any time to thank him for fixing something he didn't fix.

Turns out the ballast was bad and our great electrician fixed it with a smaller one with a much brighter light!

Life with The Word and Bird Man

For various reasons we have been going to a lot of fast food joints lately.  I like fast food but prefer Chinese.  We go to those restaurants a lot, too.

One of the fast food restaurants has the motto that people should eat like they mean it.  I see that commercial all the time.

When we go there we always comment that we have to use a lot of napkins because the sandwiches are quite slippery.  It is hard to keep the condiments in the sandwich.

I came up  with a new slogan.  Eat like you want it to fall in your  lap!  Just joking around!  Great sandwiches!
