Kendall Kessler is Hobbling Along...

Charlie Chaplin once said when you are in pain, everything else is just fantasy. I am remembering that quote today. A muscle in my back decided to go ballistic and I am slowed down to a crawl which is very hard on a workaholic. Oh well, I took some medicine and hopefully I will be able to get around without wincing.

Blue Ridge Parkway Artist is Back to Full Strength

 Well, I had the second Moderna shot and thought I was going to be one of those
that don't have adverse symptoms.  I was fine until eight hours later I started a low
grade fever that went up to 102.6.  Yuck. That was a miserable night.  

Strange that it takes so long for the reaction to kick in.  My husband was sick after an hour or two and was sick for three days.  I am back to full worhaholic strength. Hope I
don't have a relapse.

I am just about done with my latest Blue Ridge painting and it was a struggle but I am happy with it and it is time to move on.

Clyde and I came in on the middle of a very old movie last night. A guy bought his girlfriend two bunches of violets for twenty cents.
Clyde said you couldn't buy one wilted petal for that now! That is for sure.

Clyde's knee is hurting less and less while our grass looks like it needs a baler.  He doesn't want me to do it.  Not sure why.  I think I could get it done but he would rather hire someone until his knee is better.

He called me this morning to see if his lunch was still in the fridge.  It was.  Then he mentioned the tree guys  are coming today to chop down some trees.

He also mentioned he was getting someone to mow the lawn.  I said good, it's scary out there.  He laughed and said maybe Big Foot is lurking behind the grass.

I think I saw him! Yikes!

Saw a cute Big Foot t-shirt on Pinterest.  Big Foot doesn't believe in you, either.

I am very impressed that I actually waded through my studio dump and filmed a short Youtube.  I didn't trip over anything but I did set myself up for a problem that did occur after I was done. 

I precariously leaned a drawing board with some latest paintings against the wall on my taboret.  Right after I did that I knew it was an accident waiting to happen but did that stop me.  No!

Right after I was done I leaned over to pick up a painting that fell and knocked the board into the wall.  Fortunately there was no damage.

I will never learn but I do keep things interesting.  LOL!

I know the Bird Man is glad the weather will be warmer this week-end.  Not that the weather stops him.  It just stops the car so he can't get to his favorite sites.  Roads are fine and the Bird Man marches on. 

I asked him today how many species of birds he has seen.   He wasn't sure but he thinks the number is around 400.  That is pretty good for a bird watcher that will not go to any place where the wildlife is waiting for him with a knife and fork as soon as he gets off the bus. 

No Africa for him!

Here's a bird he has never seen and unlikely to ever see!

I am still plowing my way through my studio.  Right now it looks worse than when I began.  Oh well, I am finding things so that is great!

I consider our computer room to be Clyde's studio where he has all his writing stuff and birding stuff.

When I complained about how hard it is to clean up my studio I suggested he clean his up.

He said he didn't have a studio, just a Messyo.

That's for sure!  Fat chance of that being sorted out.  He does take a few things out of there to recycle so I shouldn't complain.  Don't let anyone tell you writers don't have a mess like artists do.  NOT TRUE!

 

Well, that explains it.   All that mess is coming from more than one person!  LOL!

One think I can count on is the lack of close parking spaces at the grocery store when it is freezing out there.

The other day I was about to leave when I told Clyde I would probably get a parking place in Outer Mongolia.  He asked which grocery store I was going to.  I was going to the one across the river.  He said that was Outer Mongolia.  Ha ha.  I don't think the people living in that community would agree!

I am finally going through everything in my studio.   I have straightened out almost all of the stuff in our house and now it is time to tackle the Bermuda Triangle.  

I get so irritated when I am looking for a record and can't find it.  I know I can't get the whole place cleaned up in one day but there is light at the end of the tunnel! 

Maybe, after I am done I can stop calling it the Bermuda Triangle.  I hope so!

I have the strangest dreams.  I guess everyone does.  Many people don't remember them but I remember some of them very vividly and oftentimes I can figure out why they showed up.

The other night I dreamed we had a pet elephant living in our house.  We kept it in the living room but it wasn't constrained in any way.

I was worried that it would step on my foot and when I mentioned that to Clyde he wasn't worried at all.

I know where that one came from.  I watched the great movie, Water for Elephants a few days ago.

When I mentioned the dream to Clyde, he said, "And it wasn't me?"

Ha ha.  No, Clyde is not the elephant in the room, even with the few pounds he has put on over the years.

I don't have a lot to say today.  I have my igloo suit on and will soon finish my latest painting.  My studio is the coldest room in the house.  I learned years ago that a thick bathrobe over my clothes is much better than a sweater. 

I would have to turn the heat up much higher than is reasonable if I didn't wear it.  I don't know why I am such a cold person but my hands are like ice this time of the year.  Anyway,  I am hardly ever down, just cold.  Time to get to work!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde doesn't have a funny for me today but I found a site that has some great bird jokes despite the name.  Here is one from Really Bad Bird Jokes.com

Two vultures were in the desert eating a dead clown. The first vulture asks the second vulture: "Does this taste funny to you?"

 

Clyde is always cheerful.  He has so much to do that he doesn't get into bad moods.  The only time I see him a little down is when the weather is so bad that he is prevented from getting outside to check on birds and other wildlife. 

It doesn't matter how cold it is but when there is ice on the roads he doesn't get out to his favorite spots.  So glad the roads are clear today.
