Can't think of much to say today except I finished the second stage of Pawleys Island Atmosphere and am looking forward to the last stage. The first stage that is getting a lot of hits is in the video at the top of this post. I will post the second stage on my website connected with Fine Art America soon.
I am working hard to finish my independent website with Wix but it will take a long time. There is a lot to see already but a lot more needs to be added and then I need to learn how to promote it effectively.
I have also decided, for now, to just send out my newsletter from Fine Art America. I started one with another site because I thought the number of paintings that could be added on the Fine Art America one was too few. Either they have changed their format or I was not working it correctly. There is plenty of room so I will not use the other one that aggravates me no end. The computer really likes to burp and default big time with that site and I have had enough!
Be sure to check out my Independent website in progress! The link under the below painting will take you there!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
You know you have been living with a Bird Watcher or Birder, as they say, for a very long time when you go looking for him when you see unusual birds on the internet. Lots of times people want an identification of an unusual species or an explanation of certain types of behavior so I ask The Bird Man and he groans he should be paid for his expertise but he always helps out.
Sometimes I wonder about all these Nature programs. Are there any other inhabitants of this planet that are carefully studying us, making reports, and trying to figure out our behaviors? I don't think so but I do love the below cartoon.
Crows are very smart and have learned to adapt to the changes we have made in the environment so I am just waiting for one of them to fly off with Clyde's binoculars and start checking us out. Wonder what they would say about all the paintings I make.
Clyde said they have probably learned to read and they want him to hit the delete button on all those poems he writes. That would explain all the bird noise right outside the window.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
It's Hawk Migration time and Clyde is trying to get up to Rocky Knob and check it out. What he doesn't like to do this time of the year is lead hawk migration programs.
Birding is like fishing. Sometimes they just aren't up there and then the group is so disappointed but since he is the Bird Man he has been asked to lead one and he will.
Saw a cute bird joke on the internet. A bird is sitting on a wire and asks, "So what's so great about being online?"
Clyde added "I am going to fly south and laugh at all of you!" Happy Fall tweeting!

Well,
today was a first. I am getting more forgetful with age but I have
never left the house to mail a painting without the painting. Argh! I
got to the post office to pick up my mail and just as I was about to go
to the shipping service outlet I use, I realized the painting was still
in the house. Yikes! Beam me up Scottie! I don't know where I am any
more.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Years
ago I was trying to come up with a name for my studio. I asked Clyde
and he thought Towhee Hill would be a good name since there are so many
Towhees around here and our house is on a hill. It is a beautiful bird
so I decided that would be a good name.
Lately, both of us have noticed a lot of Towhees at the computer room window where I spend so much time promoting my artwork.
Yesterday
I noticed one that just seemed to be staring in the window as I was
finishing the work to send out a painting to Montana.
Clyde thinks the bird is looking for his cut. After all, I did use his name.
I thought that was pretty funny and here is another bird joke on the internet.
Irritable owl syndrome. Back off jerk!

As
I have mentioned before, Clyde has a lot of dietary restrictions.
There is a long list of things he can't eat and when he began his
Fructose malabsorption diet he lost 30 pounds. He hasn't gained it back
but he has found so many substitutions with plenty of calories that he
has gained some of it back.
He is being more careful now and paying more attention to calories - something I have done since High School. It does work!
Anyway, here is a cartoon in the public domain that I thought was perfect for The Bird Man!
Here
is the link to Jeff Cohen's Weight Loss site which is where I found
this great cartoon!

I
don't have a lot to say today. I have my igloo suit on and will soon
finish my latest painting. My studio is the coldest room in the house.
I learned years ago that a thick bathrobe over my clothes is much
better than a sweater.
I would have to turn
the heat up much higher than is reasonable if I didn't wear it. I don't
know why I am such a cold person but my hands are like ice this time of
the year. Anyway, I am hardly ever down, just cold. Time to get to
work!

Clyde
doesn't have a funny for me today but I found a site that has some
great bird jokes despite the name. Here is one from Really Bad Bird
Jokes.com
Two vultures were in the desert eating a dead clown. The first vulture asks the second vulture: "Does this taste funny to you?"
Clyde
is always cheerful. He has so much to do that he doesn't get into bad
moods. The only time I see him a little down is when the weather is so
bad that he is prevented from getting outside to check on birds and
other wildlife.
It doesn't matter how cold it
is but when there is ice on the roads he doesn't get out to his
favorite spots. So glad the roads are clear today.
Another day, another bird record!
