It is great to see Clyde getting around without the walker!  His knee still hurts but he is walking, mostly without assistance.  He will see the doctor Monday and hopefully go back to work on Tuesday or Wednesday.

It is nice having him around but I am getting tired of being a caretaker.  It really is hard to put a sock on someone.  I am getting the hang of it.  Oh well. It is a beautiful day and maybe I can get into the studio for a while.

I am starting to catch up on some of my computer work as Clyde hobbles around the house.  His knee is getting better every day and he should be back to work next week.  That is a whole lot better than six weeks with no weight bearing on that leg!  So glad it was just a tear!

Clyde and I both have advanced degrees but the other day we both decided we must have degrees in Stupidology.  While he was taking a shower in the bathroom with a shower/tub combo we were talking about how great it would be to have one of those showers that you walk in and sit down.

Then it occurred to me that we could have been using the bathroom in the bed room that just has a shower stall.  We couldn't believe how stupid we had been.  For days he has been painfully lifting his leg over the bath tub when he could have been walking into the shower.

What a couple of Stupidologists!

It is always great to hear from patrons!  The couple that bought Eagle Fire sent me a picture of it in their Montana home.  I think they picked a perfect place for it and I am glad it has a good home.  I will miss that one a lot. Clyde is starting to get his sense of humor back as the condition of his knee improves.  He is just taking tylenol now and the swelling is way down.  He is drinking lots of fluids which, of course, means lots of trips to the bathroom.

He said if he were looking for a job right now all he could put on the resume is able to go to the bathroom.  I don't think there is a call for frequent bathroom visitors.  Unemployment sure would take a nose dive if there were jobs for that!

Years ago I was trying to come up with a name for my studio.  I asked Clyde and he thought Towhee Hill would be a good name since there are so many Towhees around here and our house is on a hill.  It is a beautiful bird so I decided that would be a good name.

Lately, both of us have noticed a lot of Towhees at the computer room window where I spend so much time promoting my artwork.

Yesterday I noticed one that just seemed to be staring in the window as I was finishing the work to send out a painting to Montana.

Clyde thinks the bird is looking for his cut. After all, I did use his name.

I thought that was pretty funny and here is another bird joke on the internet.

Irritable owl syndrome.  Back off jerk!

Things are not real funny right now. Clyde has to have an MRI tonight at 10:00.  Guess the hospital is backed up so we get to make a night run.   If the MRI does not back up what the doctor's office x-ray shows, the insurance company will not pay for the operation.  Clyde is in pain, the cartilage in his knee is torn and the insurance company is in charge.  Yuck!!!

Anyway, I did see a cute artist joke today.  A lady is painting a cute little kitten and telling her teacher she is exploring her dark side but she is beginning to think she doesn't have a dark side.  Love it!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde has been trying a number of natural remedies for his sore hip and knee with no improvement.  The other day I suggested acupuncture.  He said that was a great idea.  Maybe it will hurt so much he will jump up and run after the person that put the pins in and the pain in his body would disappear!  Okay, no acupuncture.

None of the remedies have worked because the doctor visit revealed torn cartilage in his knee which is causing the pain there and radiating out to his hip.  The hip is fine.  Just pain by association with an injured knee.  He will have to have an operation.

Yikes!  I wonder how much will be covered by insurance.  A couple of dollars?  We can only hope!

Our new addition to our computer family has arrived!  What a great little mouse.  I can't believe we put up with that lazy rat that kept losing connection and moved like a snail.  We really should have chucked it out the window a long time ago.

The new one is black with a red top like some sort of racing car.  It zooms around the screen, never loses signal and has a right click.  Clyde said it is one that can travel so I guess we have to buy it a little suit case.  If I could feed it computer cheese once in a while, I would!
