Well, today was a first.  I am getting more forgetful with age but I have never left the house to mail a painting without the painting.  Argh!  I got to the post office to pick up my mail and just as I was about to go to the shipping service outlet I use, I realized the painting was still in the house.  Yikes!  Beam me up Scottie!  I don't know where I am any more.

Years ago I was trying to come up with a name for my studio.  I asked Clyde and he thought Towhee Hill would be a good name since there are so many Towhees around here and our house is on a hill.  It is a beautiful bird so I decided that would be a good name.

Lately, both of us have noticed a lot of Towhees at the computer room window where I spend so much time promoting my artwork.

Yesterday I noticed one that just seemed to be staring in the window as I was finishing the work to send out a painting to Montana.

Clyde thinks the bird is looking for his cut. After all, I did use his name.

I thought that was pretty funny and here is another bird joke on the internet.

Irritable owl syndrome.  Back off jerk!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Things are not real funny right now. Clyde has to have an MRI tonight at 10:00.  Guess the hospital is backed up so we get to make a night run.   If the MRI does not back up what the doctor's office x-ray shows, the insurance company will not pay for the operation.  Clyde is in pain, the cartilage in his knee is torn and the insurance company is in charge.  Yuck!!!

Anyway, I did see a cute artist joke today.  A lady is painting a cute little kitten and telling her teacher she is exploring her dark side but she is beginning to think she doesn't have a dark side.  Love it!

I like Facebook but I think people should read the status before they friend someone.  I am getting a lot of scam messages from guys every day.  Guys, if I accept your friendship request, it doesn't mean I want a date.  I am MARRIED.  Great to be Facebook friends but I don't see Facebook as a Dating Service.

Clyde and I both love The Red Green Show.  We really miss watching it on PBS.  I may have to order a few of the DVDS.  The satire on that show is great.

Well, the other day I learned that Red Green is wrong about duct tape.  He claims it is the handy man's secret weapon.  I hate to sew.  There are buttons on my coat that are about to come off and I still haven't reinforced them.

Last week I decided to use duct tape on the tears of one of my recycle bags.  It looked liked it worked!  Then I went to use the bags for shopping and the tape was hanging off.  My hero is wrong.  LOL!

I am fighting the Monday blahs and trying to get a lot of things done.  I just found out that I don't have any bubble wrap and I need to mail a painting out soon so time to get to the store.

I am getting some very irritating messages on Facebook that are probably from scammers.  Wouldn't it be great if there was some kind of automatic scammer alarm system?  I realize that is a ridiculous idea but I am trying to think of something funny to cheer me up.

Oh well.  Yoga tonight and Line Dance tomorrow!  Yes!

Usually, on Saturday or Sunday we go out to a fast food place and I always get a chicken sandwich but I never get the fries.  For a number of reasons I don't eat fried food and if you ever try one of those fries cold you know how bad they taste.  I'll bet there are other things in them besides potato.

Sometimes I get the baked potato at Wendys.  Saturday, we went to Wendys and I just got the sandwich and when we got home I wished I had gotten the potato.  I was still hungry so I decided to boil a potato.

The potato was a little bigger than I wanted so I asked Clyde if he could eat the rest.  His answer was, do pigs oink?  Okay, stupid question. Let' move on.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde has been trying a number of natural remedies for his sore hip and knee with no improvement.  The other day I suggested acupuncture.  He said that was a great idea.  Maybe it will hurt so much he will jump up and run after the person that put the pins in and the pain in his body would disappear!  Okay, no acupuncture.

None of the remedies have worked because the doctor visit revealed torn cartilage in his knee which is causing the pain there and radiating out to his hip.  The hip is fine.  Just pain by association with an injured knee.  He will have to have an operation.

Yikes!  I wonder how much will be covered by insurance.  A couple of dollars?  We can only hope!

Everyone is on their phone.  The other day Clyde and I were behind a car that was slowly veering off to the left  on a neighborhood rode.  I slowed way down so I wasn't near the wayward person in case they crashed into a car that was supposed to be in that lane.

A while back I was walking on the Radford Rec track and two girls were walking side by side while staring at their phone.  Not a word between them.

I was told last week that teachers have given up on getting kids to put their phone away.  Now they have some sort of interactive screen that they use with their phones.  Wow!  Glad I retired from teaching.

Anyway, Clyde's comment was an army from another country could invade ours and no one would notice.  Everyone is on their phone.
