Blue Ridge Parkway is Behind the Eight Ball Today and a Turtle would do Better...

Please click on my  Youtube!  My studio needs another bull dozing so I thought I would put this one up again!

I awoke to the sound of my son screaming in the kitchen.  He had dropped a large glass jug of apple juice on the floor and began to clean it up.  When I got there he had apple juice foot prints in the rug in the living room.

He got up all the glass without a scratch but didn't clean the mop out so he had mostly pushed the apple juice around the floor.  I showed him how to get the mop clean so he could finish the job.

Then I cut myself on my plastic capuchino jar.  Didn't think that was possible, but it was.  I have so much to do and I am determined to paint so I had better get going!

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

I just got off the phone with my brother who has a doctorate in computer science and does computer contracting out of his home.  Clyde works on a computer all day and knows a lot more about this machine than me.  I sit in front of it and sometimes think I could get a turtle to walk across the keys and get things done faster.

I am Computer LD.  Once I figure something out I have got it, but it takes a while.  Of course, then things change and I am lost once again.  Now I am trying to figure out why my instragram icon on my phone keeps taking me to a message screen and then I can't change it.  I'll figure it out just in time to update it and get lost again.  Cheers!

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde and I often discuss what appears to be climate changes.  There are a lot of indications that our climate is changing and adversely affecting our environment.  Of course the melting of the polar ice caps is one of the strongest indication of change.

I am surprised that so many people do not believe there is a problem.  A lot of people point to heavy snowfall in their area which they say proves there is no warming trend.  They don't realize that the entire world has to be taken into consideration, not just one area.  Winter 2015 was the warmest one on record. If they actually studied the issue they may change their minds.

Clyde's response is there seems to be something going on with our environment that is not good.  What is not going on is education.

Well,  I am having no problem seeing Monday!  Sunday shot by but today is going at a more even pace. I was so pleased to sign the finished Field of Beauty oil painting!  I think the surface is exceptionally sensous and instricate.  I think this is my best floral so far.  I didn't lose any of the intense color as I modeled the forms and I think it sings out to the world!

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

Saturday I was in the drive through with my son at a fast food restaurant.  There was one car ahead of us and while we were waiting I saw a ground hog calmly munching a large piece of bread by the other car.  We had to laugh. It wasn't a cat or dog but a ground hog having lunch.

We couldn't understand why it didn't take the bread and run.  It just kept eating and staring at us with a funny look on its face.  I told Clyde and he said maybe the ground hog was trying to tell us he couldn't believe we ate that food full of GMO canola oil and other weird stuff.

I don't think that was what the look he was giving us meant because by the time we got to the window the bread was gone.

My current painting is coming along so well I almost have to ask someone to pinch me to see if I am awake.  So far I am not art wrestling this one down.  I am getting the expression, color nuances, intricate textural surface and great spacing that I desire in a painting!  I had better not say much more.  Afraid I will jinx it although once in a while a painting starts off good and keeps going.  They are such great experiences!  Super cheers!

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

Lately Clyde has been saying some pretty wacky things which is typical.  As usual, they are funny, at least to me.  I love word play and he is great at it.  I don't know about other writers, but this one is fun to live with.  He keeps me laughing.

Anyway, the wild things he has been saying prompted me to say he had better watch out or he will land in a Loony Bin.

His response was he was already there and they threw him out.  Hopeless case.

Blue Ridge Parkway Artist, New Suggestion Paintings, and Gagging...

Blue Ridge Parkway Artist

I am so pleased that I started a floral still life today!   I work hard to put the life in still life and I think this one is going to be a real eye catcher!  Here are two more Suggestion paintings!

Rainbow Rose    Original acrylic Painting    NFS

Prints on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Greeting Cards, Pillows, !phone and galaxy phone Cases Available at   KENDALL KESSLER ART

Link to this Painting            http://pixels.com/featured/rainbow-rose-kendall-kessler.html

Rainbow Rose is another sensuous, colorful painting from my series,
Suggestions. I am starting with an abstract expressionist surface and then looking for forms that appear in the paint. This time a rose like shape began to appear so I made it into a many colored rose. I am especially pleased with the orange/blue contrast in this one.

Puppy Stare    Original acrylic Painting    NFS

Prints on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Greeting Cards, Pillows, !phone and galaxy phone Cases Available at   KENDALL KESSLER ART

Link to this Painting            http://pixels.com/featured/puppy-stare-kendall-kessler.html

Puppy Stare is another sensuous, colorful painting from my series,
Suggestions. . This time a dog's nose like shape began to appear so I made it into a many colored puppy. I am especially pleased with the complicated brushwork in this one.

Life with the Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

I love to tease my husband.  It is great to get a laugh out of him and he usually has a clever retort for me.  I like to post those.

The other night I had to go out on some errands.  I told Clyde I may return.  He played along and said he hoped I would return.  I told him I would if I didn't find someone sexier than him.  Oh wait, there isn't anyone sexier so I guess I will return.

I think the groan he let out could be heard throughout Radford.  I am surprised no one called up to ask if someone was dying.

I think he was still gagging when he got up for work the next day.

What is the point of being married if you can't joke around?

Blue Ridge Parkway Artist, New Suggestion Painting, and This is Serious...

Blue Ridge Parkway Artist

Lots of ambition but not much energy.  So many people here have this bug.  It sure is a community thing!  I do have a new suggestion painting and hope to get to work soon.  Cheers!

Nebulous  Original  Acrylic  Painting    NFS

Prints on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Greeting Cards, pillows, !phone and galaxy phone cases Available at  KENDALL KESSLER ART

Link to this painting          http://pixels.com/featured/nebulous-kendall-kessler.html

Nebulous is another sensuous, colorful painting from my series,
Suggestions. I am starting with an abstract expressionist surface and then looking for forms that appear in the paint. This time vague fish like forms showed up so I made them a little more visible. This time I decided to let the scene remain soft and more indistinct than some of my other Suggestion paintings. I am pleased with the soft effect.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde and I still have this awful bug that we can't seem to shake.  I should probably plant a tree when I am well.  What a lot of tissues!  Clyde will be seeing a specialist soon due to the ear problem he is having.  Mine are fine.

The congestion is awful, the fatigue is bad, but the real problem is I don't want any chocolate!  Now that is a serious illness!  I doubt the chocolate industry will suffer but I am.  I hope my taste buds get back in action soon!
