I have started work on the next symbol paintings in my Whimsy series.  What better symbol to work with than the heart?  I have a lot of great ideas for interpretive paintings of hearts and here is my first one!

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde and I often discuss what appears to be climate changes.  There are a lot of indications that our climate is changing and adversely affecting our environment.  Of course the melting of the polar ice caps is one of the strongest indication of change.

I am surprised that so many people do not believe there is a problem.  A lot of people point to heavy snowfall in their area which they say proves there is no warming trend.  They don't realize that the entire world has to be taken into consideration, not just one area.  Winter 2015 was the warmest one on record. If they actually studied the issue they may change their minds.

Clyde's response is there seems to be something going on with our environment that is not good.  What is not going on is education.

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

Usually when I talk to Clyde he comes up with some quip that cracks me up.  This time I came up with something that made him laugh which is no easy thing to do.  He is a tough audience while I tend to laugh so hard the neighbors from down the street complain.

Anyway, he and I both tend to have a negative view of progress in technology.  We are always worried about the consequences of certain advancements.  Now it is the drones we are concerned about. 

I mentioned to him the negative view we seem to have about technology and he said it isn't the technology he is worried about.  I replied that maybe it was the stupidology that oftentimes follows the technological advancements. 

Made him laugh!  Yes!!!

Well,  I am having no problem seeing Monday!  Sunday shot by but today is going at a more even pace. I was so pleased to sign the finished Field of Beauty oil painting!  I think the surface is exceptionally sensous and instricate.  I think this is my best floral so far.  I didn't lose any of the intense color as I modeled the forms and I think it sings out to the world!

Saturday I was in the drive through with my son at a fast food restaurant.  There was one car ahead of us and while we were waiting I saw a ground hog calmly munching a large piece of bread by the other car.  We had to laugh. It wasn't a cat or dog but a ground hog having lunch. 

We couldn't understand why it didn't take the bread and run.  It just kept eating and staring at us with a funny look on its face.  I told Clyde and he said maybe the ground hog was trying to tell us he couldn't believe we ate that food full of GMO canola oil and other weird stuff. 

I don't think that was what the look he was giving us meant because by the time we got to the window the bread was gone.

I wonder what it would be like to sleep late on Saturday or any other day.  I don't sleep well anyway so I can't complain that I am always up early.  As always, I just wish someone could add hours to the day.  I always feel I am behind the eight ball.  Does anyone use that expression any more?  My Mom was always saying that one.

I just looked it up and it is an idiom that refers to a being in a difficult situation.  I thought it meant short on time.  Oh well, have a great day no matter how much you get done or how much fun you have!

I love all the arts and am a serious painter, amateur pianist, and crazy Line Dancer.  I have always admired writers and wanted to marry one.  I didn't go looking for one but one found me.  I don't have a clue on how to write and it is hard for me to blog but I try.

The other day I thought my intro about having to buy new shoes was pretty good so I called Clyde up and read it to him. I laughed and said maybe I was becoming a writer.  His response was well, one of us  should be.  Ha ha.  Clyde has been published over 200 times to my zero. I think we know who the writer is.

I am still working hard on my new floral landscape, A Field of Beauty, and it really is coming along well!  I haven't had an angry moment with it with is quite unusual.  Paintings can be so exasperating but I really do love what I do. 

I wish I didn't have to spend so much time promoting my work but I can't make them without money and I can't take them with me so I have to work hard to find homes for them. If I could find an agent that could do all the business work for me I would but art agents are as scarce as hens teeth and I have been told a lot of them are more trouble than help.

Anyway, I keep at it.  My artwork keeps me going!

I like to watch TV with Clyde when I get the chance.  He always has something interesting to say and oftentimes says something that cracks me up.  Last night a commercial came on about people with bad tax debt and the lawyer is going to lend a hand because that is what he does - helps people. 

The problem is so severe that the lawyer claims he will be glad to talk in an office near you.  Clyde said I think he means he will be glad to talk in a prison near you.

Considering the tax debt in the ad, the talk will probably have to be in a prison.  LOL!

When I started using Facebook there wasn't a lot going on.  I didn't have many friends and there weren't a lot of posts.  Now I have well over 2000 and the posts are a lot of fun!  I like to read about friends and the jokes are great!  When I see a good one I have to tell Clyde and he usually has an addition that is funny and oftentimes funnier than the original joke.  This time he didn't have anything to add.  I love this one!  Puns are great!

What do you call a cow that does not give milk?  A milk dud.
