I got up early to get things done so we can all go to the lake this evening but it sure is cloudy out there.  My weather man husband says this will probably be a good day but I have my doubts.  

 Still so much to do but I will be ready.  Love to swim!

Started raining right when Clyde came home.  Oh well.  Maybe tomorrow.

Life with The Bird and Word Man - Clyde Kessler

Every day I read articles about the upcoming presidential election and I don't know if I am reading fact or fiction . As Harold Walowitz from The Big Bang Theory once told Raj.  "Grow up Raj, there is no room for truth on the internet."

I like to ask Clyde what he thinks about all the stuff I see about the candidates as he really  keeps up and is good at dividing fact from fiction.  So far, I am not happy with what I am hearing from him.

In another post I mentioned the candidate he thought we should vote for.  He said we should write in Scooby Doo.

He has since changed his mind.  Now he  thinks we should vote for the Pink Panther.  At least the Pink Panther comes with a good theme song.

As usual, he is right.  Who doesn't like the Pink Panther theme song?

I can't believe I had to miss Line Dancing again!  I was on my way and the car did that awful transmission lurch so I turned around and thankfully made it home.  Either the fluid is low or it really is time to replace my old Ford. 

It has been a great car and I hope we can get a few more years out of it.  I hate shopping of any kind but it has to be done sometimes!  Hope we can get it fixed before the  Thursday class.

Clyde and I talk a lot about computers and how they have taken over.  I do appreciate being able to sell my artwork on this so called time saving device but it certainly has its draw backs. 

A lot of really wild things get passed around on Facebook.  Oftentimes serious posts aren't true.  I sure have seen a lot of death notices that were false. As one of the characters on The Big Bang Theory said to another cast member, "Grow up, there is no room for truth on the internet."

As Clyde says, "Stupid is only a click away."

I saw it that time on The Mindy Project and Maybe a Trained Monkey...

I was so pleased to see my drawing, "Reaching Out", on The Mindy Project yesterday on Fox TV.  It wasn't visible on the first episode so it was great to see it on the second one.  The set director said it wouldn't be on every show.  I thought the first episode was funny and fun but the second one was hilarious and I am thrilled to have my work on such a good show!  They have great writers and great actors!  I don't watch a lot of TV because I love movies so when I can watch TV I am almost always shoving a DVD in the box.  I will watch The Mindy Project and The Big Bang!  Excellent shows!

I am getting ready to put my second YouTube up and as usual I am having computer trouble.  It seems like I am always searching the help section for one simple thing and looking at tutorials for one simple thing that should be obvious.  Yesterday I watched a tutorial that I'm sure a six-year-old could easily follow.  It could not have been simpler.  I followed the directions and nothing happened.   It seems to me that the only way I can find answers to software problems is to poke around for a while and then, by accident, I find what I want.  I could probably save myself a lot of time if I just got a trained monkey to poke around while I work on a painting or housework or something.  That way I could get something useful done while the monkey finds the solution by accident.

It is hard for me to believe two things these days. I can't believe I ever thought oil paint didn't cost that much and that our grocery bill was ever less than outrageous. I am not happy if I use the traditional thin to thick glazes of oil paint. The paint isn't that expensive if one uses that method. I push it around like a sculptor does clay on an armature. Sometimes I sink back into the old method and immediately go back to slathering it on and pulling expressive forms out of it. I can't get my unique color style or expression any other way so, yes, oil paint is very expensive. Not as expensive as our groceries but it is up there.

I don't watch a lot of TV for two reasons. I don't have the time and I am a movie buff. It usually takes me days to watch one movie but there are no commercials and the ones I watch seem to have much better acting and dialog then what I see on TV. The only show I like to watch is The Big Bang Theory and so does my husband. More and more the plots seem to be centered around the fact that Sheldon is an obnoxious know-it-all who drives the others crazy. My husband said Sheldon would drive a corpse crazy. No doubt.
