Enjoyed Meeting Talk Show host Joy Sutton and This years...

     I had a great time at Joy Sutton's party last Thursday!  She is quite a dynamic lady and wants to be the next Oprah!  I have no doubt she will succeed!  Her show has been renewed for a second season and the time has been moved to 11:00 Sunday mornings.  I am looking forward to being one of her guests this Spring.  My date is tentatively April 3rd!

Don't forget about my drawing, "Reaching Out", on The Mindy Project 9:30 Tuesday nights on Fox.  There were great shots of it on the 2nd,4th, and 5th episodes!

For many years now I have been buying golden delicious apples instead of the red ones.  They always seemed to be sweeter and firmer.  Lately the ones I have been buying are too tart so I went back to red delicious which I figured would be a big mistake.  Much to my surprise they are great, not mushy, and sweet!  I made that comment to my  husband and he said maybe the stores ran out of last years apples and are selling this year's crop.  What a comment!  Anyway, I'm glad they aren't mushy and low on taste.

I saw it that time on The Mindy Project and Maybe a Trained Monkey...

I was so pleased to see my drawing, "Reaching Out", on The Mindy Project yesterday on Fox TV.  It wasn't visible on the first episode so it was great to see it on the second one.  The set director said it wouldn't be on every show.  I thought the first episode was funny and fun but the second one was hilarious and I am thrilled to have my work on such a good show!  They have great writers and great actors!  I don't watch a lot of TV because I love movies so when I can watch TV I am almost always shoving a DVD in the box.  I will watch The Mindy Project and The Big Bang!  Excellent shows!

I am getting ready to put my second YouTube up and as usual I am having computer trouble.  It seems like I am always searching the help section for one simple thing and looking at tutorials for one simple thing that should be obvious.  Yesterday I watched a tutorial that I'm sure a six-year-old could easily follow.  It could not have been simpler.  I followed the directions and nothing happened.   It seems to me that the only way I can find answers to software problems is to poke around for a while and then, by accident, I find what I want.  I could probably save myself a lot of time if I just got a trained monkey to poke around while I work on a painting or housework or something.  That way I could get something useful done while the monkey finds the solution by accident.

I never know if technology is taking us forward or backwards.  I know some photographers that think 35mm slides have much more depth than digital files.  I have had to work hard to get good files for my website and I would agree that digital photos taken out of doors just don't have the same impact as my kodochrome 35mm slides taken indoors but then I am not a photographer.  I'm sure there are some that disagree and would set me straight.  Anyway, now I am learning how to record my piano music for Youtube.  I have decided that I am going to put up selections of my artwork with my music in the background!  I am excited about having a place to perform without the horrible trepidation of a visible audience.  My fingers actually shake when I have to play for people.  Using a USB mike and figuring out the audacity site is certainly a lot harder than a tape recorder!

As always I like to include some humor but I am all out right now.  I have got to get more from my husband.  He cracked me up last night when he was testing out audacity but the crazy recordings he made are too long for a blog so I am just going to repeat a joke I saw on Facebook.  An extremely overweight man is standing in front of a mirror when his extremely overweight wife asks him if she looks fat.  He answers with," Do I look stupid?  A guy would have to be married yesterday to answer the fat question.

Not too many more days before I will see my best selling print, "Reaching Out" on "The Mindy Project" on Fox TV!  I hope it won't be hard to see.  Many times I will see what looks like a great work of art on TV and I keep yelling, "Get out of the way!" which, of course, does no good.

Kendall Kessler's Most Popular Print will be part of the set of the upcoming sitcom The Mindy Project

Fox TV has requested the use of my most popular nude drawing, "Reaching Out", to be used as part of the set of a new sit-com, The Mindy Project.  The drawing will be in the main character's office. I am so pleased my work will be seen by millions and I hope you will look for it September 25th! Fine Art America has 119,627 artists on the site with 3,158,806 images.  This selection is quite an honor.

"Reaching Out" is now my best selling print.  "A Break in the Clouds" is in second place.   On Fine Art America this drawing is number one in the search results for charcoal nudes, nude girl drawings, nude drawings, and black and white nude girls.


Low on funnies this week.  I will have to get my crazy husband to work again. I can't do this by myself.  I am learning from the master but I am just a novice.  He is the nutty humorist and I depend on him.  The only thing I have is what he said about what people may have to do after going to some restaurants which is get two jobs.  One to pay the bill and the other to work off the calories.  Not his greatest but maybe next time I will have a better one.
