Blue Ridge Parkway Artist

I am still not sure what I want to do next.  I have so many ideas for new works that it is hard to decide.  I have a lot of ideas for new Blue Ridge paintings but I think I want to do another Kendall Expressions painting right now.  I miss oils but I am having a great time exploring acrylics.

Life with The Word and Bird Man

We like to watch Judge Judy.  I like it more than Clyde but we both get a kick out of her antics and some of the cases are hilarious!  So far, knock on wood, we have not had to appear in court for any disputes.  I would never appear on TV in a court case but I have read that these people get paid a hefty fee to have their case tried in front of ten million viewers.  No wonder they appear there!

Anyway, the other day two litigants cracked me up on the way out.  It was a couple that had split up and the woman was arguing that the guy stole her TV.  He said he paid for it.  Judge Judy ruled in favor of the guy and on the way out their comments were perfectly audible.

You are a liar!  You are going to Hell!

I am very pleased with my latest Kendall Expressions painting!  Tulip Curl is a stunner!   I love letting my expressive side fly and am very proud of this series!  Be sure to check out the folder on my website. 

I am thinking of combining two of my artistic directions into another wildlife painting.  It will be a very expressive painting combined with the softness and complicated surface of my mountain series.  I hope to be started on it tomorrow.  I have to prepare the paper and get my idea finalized!

I have been married to The Word and Bird Man for many decades and my status on Facebook clearly states that I am married yet I get boy friends just about every day sending me flattering notes.  I like to joke around about my new guys with Clyde.  I'm sure most, if not all of them are scammers as I have mentioned before, but since it is possible that some are sincere I have come up with the perfect comment.

It is great to have you for a Facebook friend but I do not chat online with people that I don't know personally due to the presence of internet scammers.  Read my posts and I will read yours!  Have a great day!

We are still tired from out trip but you can't stop a workaholic.  I got a lot done yesterday and will do more today.  I am determined to get all my artwork, computer work, and housework done each day.

For various reasons we have been going to a lot of fast food joints lately.  I like fast food but prefer Chinese.  We go to those restaurants a lot, too.

One of the fast food restaurants has the motto that people should eat like they mean it.  I see that commercial all the time.

When we go there we always comment that we have to use a lot of napkins because the sandwiches are quite slippery.  It is hard to keep the condiments in the sandwich.

I came up  with a new slogan.  Eat like you want it to fall in your  lap!  Just joking around!  Great sandwiches!

Life with The Word and Bird Man

I am still working hard to keep my teeth clean so I won't be harpooned  by the hygienist.  I hate having exposed roots.  I am using my kit when we eat out and are not going home right away.

So far Clyde is being very patient.  I try to move fast but my teeth are so close together that it takes time to floss them.  Yesterday I may have over done it.  I have had floss stuck in my teeth before.  It eventually melts away.  This time I found long slivers of melted dental floss in my mouth at the end of the day!  Yuck!  I didn't think that would happen.

I am reminded of a cartoon with a guy that has holes at the top of his teeth.  The dentist's comment was maybe he was flossing a bit too hard.  LOL

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Years ago someone mentioned to me that women often become more and more like their mothers as they age.  I was thinking about that the other day when I was brushing my teeth for the umpteenth  time.  I can't believe that I decided to ask Clyde what he thought about that saying as I flossed  my teeth.

My mother brushes her teeth four times a day and uses a different brush each time.  They she flosses and uses a water pick.  She says it takes her twenty minutes to do this due to her bridge work.  Of course, her determination to keep her teeth perfectly clean is also a reason for the duration of the event.

So I am standing in the kitchen with dental floss in my teeth asking Clyde is I was becoming more and more like my mother!  Well, that's a big duh!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Since my last awful dental cleaning I have decided to fight back!  I take good care of my teeth but now I am a teeth cleaning ninja!  I brush immediately after eating anything.  I use my water pick that I was worried about using due to the problem of cleaning it.

What do you use? A toothbrush to clean it?

Not only am I flossing after every meal, but I now have a kit in my purse with brush, toothpaste and floss.  I told Clyde we need to invest in dental floss stock since I am buying it all up.

If the dental hygienist says I have heavy tartar build up next time I will eat a dental instrument!

I have started another Kendall Expressions painting.  I am using Acrylic paint this time and trying to be looser with the colors and forms.  That is always hard for me.  I am an Impressionist at heart and Impressionism is an intense, scientific approach to light and shade as found in nature.

 Pillow Puff is another sensuous, colorful painting from my series,
Suggestions. I am starting with an abstract expressionist surface and then looking for forms that appear in the paint. This time a pillow shape on the right showed up so I added others for a flowing still life. I am especially pleased with the strong blues and purples in this one.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

 I have a few phobias.  I don't like to be in a high place unless the guard rail comes up to my neck.  I don't even like the walking track but I stay away from the rail.

Actually, I can't think of any other phobias except my new one.  I have never been afraid to go to the dentist until now.  I have exposed roots so if I don't get novacaine on the lowers I can't stand simple cleanings. 

I jokingly say I have dental phobia but I will go for my cleanings.  This last time the novacaine didn't work on the right side and that is where my worst exposed root is so I had to jump out of the chair and hit my head on the ceiling a few times.

Clyde said I should color code my teeth so the hygienist will know which ones to be very careful with.  Ha ha! What am I supposed to use?  Acrylic paint and poison myself?  Well, that would take care of the dental visit problems.  No me, no teeth cleanings.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde likes Science fiction and enjoys various science fiction shows and movies.  We still watch Star Trek re-runs.  I mostly watch them for the fun comments that Clyde comes up with.  

He has a lot of the lines memorized and notices when one is missing so more commercials can be shown.  He says that problem is getting worse and worse.  He thinks one day this will be an entire Star Trek episode.

Beam me up Scottie!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Well, here I go again.  We are getting another computer tune up.  This amazing machine needs more attention than our cars do.  I wish it didn't have to spend so much time in the shop, especially since the shop is also my home. 

We have a great young friend to help us but it usually takes most of a day- so is this machine such a time saver or is it something we have to baby sit and burp all the time?  

I just sold a framed print online so I guess I have a lot of nerve to complain, but I do get exasperated with our computer.  I better get to work since I won't be able to most of tomorrow.
