Life with The Word and Bird Man- Clyde Kessler
If
you read my blogs then you know I love to laugh and look for any
opportunity to crack up and then share it with Clyde. Most of the
funnies I post here are his or mine but sometimes I find things on
Facebook that are fantastic.
The other
day there was a strange little creature with the caption - Home is
where I can look ugly and enjoy it! That is so true! I don't even get
decently dressed or look into a mirror until have the day is gone.
I mentioned
this one to Clyde and he said we must have a huge house to hold all his
ugly. Not so! Clyde is a great looking guy and when the mirror in the
bathroom actually came off the wall and shattered, he was no where near
it!

I
am very pleased to have finished another large Pawleys Island
painting. This one is the companion piece to His Spot. Another view
across the tidal creek at Pawleys Island where my husband studies
wildlife on our vacation. The sun is just about behind the trees and
spreading orange light on the scene.

Radford High Day Lilies Original 11" x 14" Oil Painting $313
Prints on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Pillows, !phone and Galaxy phone Cases Available at KENDALL KESSLER ART
Radford
High Day Lilies is a colorful, textural painting of the beautiful
flowers that are in patches at Radford High School. The crown vetch
provide a great accent to the day lilies. I loved seeing these flowers
when I picked up my son from school and now see them when I go to the
library that is next to the High school. I am very proud of the complex
surface of this painting. The colors and textures are continually
modulated throughout the work.
Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Clyde
is still quite sick even though he was on penicillin for a week! He
always has such a hard time shaking illnesses. They settle in his
sinuses and affect his ears. He is going back to the doctor today.
Hope he can get something that will knock out this monster bug!
When Clyde gets sick the germs settle in and set up house and eventually a bank account! Nasty little things!

Here
is another one of my Suggestions paintings! I am very pleased with
this series! Also, here is another painting from my Kendall Expressions
paintings! These paintings are really catching on! I have sold a lot
of prints of them and had two recent originals sold!
The Following Original Acrylic Painting NFS
Prints on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Greeting Cards, Pillows, !phone and galaxy phone cases Available at KENDALL KESSLER ART
The Following is another sensuous, colorful painting from my series,
Suggestions. I am starting with an abstract expressionist surface and
then looking for forms that appear in the paint. This time I saw two
vague hooded figures at the right of the painting so I added one more
and some nebulous stars. Make of it what you will!
Marsh visitor Original 9" x 12" Oil Pastel Painting $236
Marsh
Visitor is another one of my creations in which I let my expressive
side take over. The added color accents and movement add excitement to
the scene.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
As I have mentioned before, my husband calls me to make sure I am up. He goes to work at 4:30 am - yes am, and I am up at 7:30.
Often times he goes to a store on the way home and asks me if I need anything.
Since it was 3 degrees I asked him for some warm weather.
His response was I needed to get my own boat.
I asked him where would the boat go!
Florida, of course! Sounds good to me!

I
am so pleased to sell two more prints of my work and this time I added
another country to my list! Now I have artwork in 24 states, Russia,
Canada, Germany, Australia, and The United Kingdom! My work really gets
around! One of the paintings has been sold but prints are always
available. The other one is available and on special this week!
Blue Ridge Autumn Original Oil Painting has been Sold
Prints on Paper, Metal, Canvas, Greeting Cards, Pillows, !phone and galaxy phone Cases Available at KENDALL KESSLER ART
Blue
Ridge Autumn is a sumptuous color feast of this gorgeous mountain
region in Fall. The warm/cool color contrast sparkles and lights up the
work.
Tiger Stare Original 20" x 16" Acrylic Painting $670
Prints on Paper, Metal, Canvas, Greeting Cards, Pillows, !phone and galaxy phone Cases Available at KENDALL KESSLER ART
Tiger
Stare is an intense, expressive painting from my series Kendall
Expressions. My work has always had Expressionistic elements combined
with Impressionistic elements. In these works I am emphasizing my
expressive side. I am very pleased with the look in the tiger's eyes and
the linear patterns of the stripes. The painting is on stretched canvas
without frame.
Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
I
have mentioned two bruises I cannot account for and both times my
husband had a quip of how I am probably smacking him at night to stop
his snoring. He is still congested and that is usually the only time he
snores.
Well,
yesterday I mentioned that my thumb on my left hand is sore. Of course
his explanation is that I am probably poking him the eye since the hand
slap and kick didn't stop the snoring.
I seriously doubt I am attacking my husband when I am sleeping but his quips do make me laugh!

I
am excited about getting to the third layer of another Blue Ridge
Parkway autumn painting! The second layer is just about dry. Most of
my paintings are done in three layers, some more than three.
Here are two more favorite florals!
Shadows on Sunflowers Original Oil Painting has been Sold
Prints on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Pillows, !phone and galaxy phone cases Available at KENDALL KESSLER ART
"Shadows
on Sunflowers" is an intimate look at some sunflowers in a vase against
a backdrop of shifting light. The swirling textures enliven the surface
and the colors are intense. The brushwork is complicated and sensuous.
I
have always been fascinated with the colors of light and shade. I
remember reading somewhere that many people consider warm and cool
colors together to be like the music of the spheres.
North Albemarle, McLean VA Original 30" x 40" Oil Painting $2425
Prints on Paper, Canvas, Metal, Pillows, !phone and galaxy phone cases Available at KENDALL KESSLER ART
North
Albemarle, McLean, VA is one of my series of garden paintings in McLean
where I am from. This is a low-level impasto painting with a constant
variation in color. The mood is cheerful and the surface is complex. The
painting is in a silver-colored metal frame.
Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Clyde
is very good about helping me with a stir fry meal I like to make. I
am not much of a cook but this is one meal I make that I really like! I
was extremely tired last night and when he asked me which pot I was
going to use to par boil the broccoli and snow peas, I said the big
round one.
I cracked up but he was not amused. I wonder if there are any other shaped pots.

Actually,
every day is a great day to paint! I am so glad I am an artist. It
isn't easy and requires a lot of discipline but it really is the road
less traveled by and it has made all the difference!
I haven't been putting up these short posts here but I thought I would on the week-ends! Cheers!

I
am still working on my Suggestions Series! I have no intention of
stopping. I am working on my Blue Ridge paintings at the same time and
will have another Autumn Parkway painting up soon!
Here
is my latest Suggestion painting. This time as I was reacting to color
and texture I saw a leaning sail to I decided to turn that into a
turbulent ocean scene.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Strange
thing happened this evening. We were watching TV when we both heard a
strange sound. I soon realized it was my stomach growling since I was
very hungry. Clyde said it sounded like a distant car crash. Well,
that's a new one!
