Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

I am still considering all the phobias I have and I mentioned my knee phobia to a friend and she agreed and added hip phobia.  At a certain age you realize that exercise and keeping your weight down may not be enough.

Clyde is still recovering from knee surgery and I am worried about my knees.  Oh well, to quote a favorite movie, Strictly Ball Room, a life lived in fear is half lived.  I wonder if I am even at a quarter lived with all my fears.

Saw a good funny phobia today.  I have a phobia of german sausage. Yes, I fear the wurst.  Love it!

Beautiful cold day.  Clyde, of course, has already been out checking on wildlife.  He saw a bald eagle at Bisset Park.  I think I will finish up the taxes.  Yuck.  How do all these things get in the way of painting?  It's a conspiracy cooked up by the paper work people that shove piles of documents at you every time you wake up.  Yuck!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

So far, so good!  Clyde is able to sleep without aspirin.  The surgery is on the sixteenth and Insurance will cover it.  Well, we know how that goes. Big co-pay to start with and then a bunch of bills later, but a lot of it will be taken care of by the Insurance company.  Yes!

He still has pain but can sleep on his side so he doesn't blow a hole in the roof with his snoring.  That helps me out!  Two nights ago he woke me up and I asked him if he was going to have to take tylenol.

He said no but he may get to that point.

Is there a line?

What?

You said you may get to that point.  The fastest way between two points is a straight line. Maybe you can use a line to go from the point of pain to the point of no pain.

I finished all three of my current Blue Ridge Parkway paintings and will upload them all.  I am especially pleased with Porter Mountain in Fall.  This painting has the most complicated system of brushwork I have ever used in a painting.  This is a hard concept to explain but since I also play the piano I often try to explain art with music.  If you like music with a lot of notes and chords then this painting is for you!

I always try to look for humor and there certainly is a lot of it on the internet and  Clyde cracks me up almost every day.  I have several funnies from him that I will post but today I have one from Google + that we both liked.

Someone posted a great looking dish with beans and eggs and the caption was for viewers to enjoy a great vegetarian meal.  The only comment was, "Mmm! Where's the beef?"

Here is another one.  Becoming a vegetarian is a Big Missed Steak.

No offense to vegetarians.  We all need to laugh at ourselves.  There are zillions of artist jokes out there! I have spent my life listening to how artists are all crazy. Just because we are is no reason to point it out all the time!  LOL!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

I have been talking a lot about Yoga to Clyde.  It has helped me a lot and he thinks he will probably start taking lessons to see if it could help his hip injury.

I have only been taking lessons for a year but I realize more and more that I have been doing some Yoga for a long time.  Ever since my Mom made us kids clean the bathrooms I have been doing Downward Facing Grunge.  I didn't scrub floors until after I was married and that is when I started Table Top Scrape.  That one is also good for the bathroom.  I sort of do Legs up the wall when I can't reach something under the bed with my hands, but it is Legs Straight in Front.

Love Yoga!  The Yoga we do in class and Household Yoga!  Got to keep moving and stretching!

We had a great time at The Peaks of Otter!  The last time we were there we took the bus up to Sharp Top and walked down.  I don't remember the quarter mile trek mostly up stone stairs to get to the top after the bus drops you off!  That was not easy for me in spite of all the exercise I get and the yoga I do every day.  My pulse was racing.

My mountain man husband and son zipped on up without any problem.  Oh well, it was great and the lunch at the lodge was perfect.  I think they must make their own bread.  The bun for my chicken sandwich was fantastic!

Still super happy with my new mouse!  Once in a while the pointer is in the shade and I think the signal is lost!  Oh no!  I can't bear to have Zippy the Wonder Mouse acting like the old rat.  So far, I am always wrong and Zippy is connected and clicking away!  Oh yes!

Clyde is at his usual word play and he doesn't know if anyone else has come up with this one but I am going to print it anyway in anticipation of Halloween.
