Wow! Today at the Grocery store I saw something I never thought I would see again!  Someone was underneath his car working on it!  I said to what appeared to be his wife I was amazed and didn't think anyone knew how to work on a car anymore.  She smiled and said, he can!  She looked very proud.  I don't blame her.  Everything is so complicated today that we need all kinds of help for just about everything we depend on. 

I have no idea how to fix a computer, T.V.,refrigerator, car, etc.  The computer takeover has made it especially difficult for a lot of us.  As I have said before, if they ever computerize a bathroom, I will have to get an out house! 

Anyway, still working hard on some Suggestion paintings,  youtubes, and a new Blue Ridge Parkway painting of the James River! I think I am taking the, I live to paint statement, to new heights or lows depending on how well my feet hold out!

I have the second stage of Standing Shadows completed and am pleased with the intense mood of this work.  The girl looks as if she is holding herself for security but she is about to walk off the podium into the shadows.  Pleased with the strong emotive effect that is accentuated by vibrant color contrast.  I think this one will be the last one for a while.

There will be one more layer but it may not look that different.  I achieved what I wanted to achieve with these new nudes and now I want to move on to something else. 

Time for a break!  Going to the lake before it rains.  The warm weather ends so quickly that I am determined to get to the lake as much as possible.

What we have here is the failure to communicate. 

Clyde never misses an opportunity to turn one of my requests into a joke. 

With the acquisition of our latest car, I decided we, that especially includes my two guys, were not going to junk it up with trash that ends up under the seat and I get the fun job of getting it out.  I would have been shot into the middle of next week if I pulled that stunt on my parents. 

Anyway, when we got back from our NC wedding trip we had a little trash from the trip so my first remark before exiting the car was I am going to be sure to get this trash out. 

Don't worry. I am getting out.

Such a gorgeous day!  Clyde and I got out for a walk in beautiful Bisset Park yesterday!  Glad to get away from work for a while.  Can't do it today but hope to soon.  Clyde is a one-man educator.  I always learn about birds, butterflies or plants when I walk with him.  I wish everyone had his interests. 

I think if children were taught more about nature they would appreciate the world more and get off their phones.  I liked it better when we didn't have to take a phone with us.  In the house and on street corners was fine with me. 

Oh well, we can't stop progress but sometimes I am not so sure what we are told is progress- is progress.  Time to get off the soap box and work in the studio.

I am so pleased to own an adjustable table for my computer!  Now I can stand up rather than get all stiff in a chair!  The table can easily be adjusted for sitting or standing. I highly recommend it!  They say sitting at a computer is the new smoking. 

I much rather stand to work!  I have always had good feet.  Not as good as they used to be, but they still keep me up! 

Here is the first stage of my new Beautiful Nude!  It is working out very well!  I don't think this one will be an art arm wrestling match. Hope I am right!

Happy Easter to those that celebrate it! My hairdresser was selling easter eggs to benefit a church so I bought one.  It was a maple one and fantastic!  I am eating a little each day.  Haven't had an Easter egg since I was a kid getting my own basket.  Great memories of those days.  Loved the Easter egg hunts.  I'll never forget one that my Dad gave when I was very young.  I don't remember who it was but a real nice boy was worried I wouldn't find any so he pointed out some to me.  What a nice guy!  Anyway, for Christians this is a great day of celebration!

Well, I managed to send out my first Wix newsletter without too much screaming at the computer.  You would think this sort of thing would be easy, but I am definitely computer challenged.  I didn't quite get it the way I wanted it to be but it was sent out and received.  I don't know how to see who opened it yet but I will stumble around until I find that info.  I did have some bounced emails so I will have to clean up my list.  I sometimes wonder if the bounce is correct.  I have had some bounce on one newsletter and then open in the next.  Maybe their email box was too full.  Oh well, I will remove the bounced ones or Wix will get mad at me.

A while back my sister was asking about our Subaru Forrester.  If it were up to me we would get a cheap car but Clyde is better at purchasing things than I am.  I look at the price tag, he looks at the car so we got a good one. 

She was considering buying one but she thought she would like something a little bigger so she bought a Subaru Outback. 

Clyde said that is so she can keep it out back and take up the whole field.  She has a few acres.  We don't.

Her name is Sue so her husband calls the new car Sue'sbaru.

So pleased to finish a still life!  I don't have it on my website but I will put it there soon!  I don't paint a lot of still lifes but when I do I try real hard to make them special and visually captivating.  I think the surface and delicate light effect make this one something to see!

Last night I asked Clyde how his knee is doing. 

Do you still have pain there?

Yes.

I have a pain now. 

I am not leaving. 

Not you.  I have a pain in the back of my right ankle.  So, if I were to compare you to a  pain I wouldn't say you were a pain in the neck.  I guess I would have to say you are a pain in the heel. Or, maybe just a heel.  I think that word is still used to describe a crummy person. 

Married too long to a writer.  You can't help but pick up on the weird word play.

So pleased that a yoga friend decided to try out Line Dancing today!  I tell people all the time about how great Line Dancing is.  We had a big class today with two new students that did great.  Both of them had Line Danced before so they picked up on the steps and did well.  Both of them will be back! 

Exercise doesn't have to be a dull experience.  Dancing is a great way to keep fit  Now, if someone would just open another Skating Rink I would be completely happy!  So sorry the terrific one we had closed.  I don't have time to go to Roanoke so I hung up my skates. 

Oh well, dancing and yoga keep me going!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Clyde and I have been having a hard time with itching.  He thinks it is because of the long winter.  He is using cocoanut butter and I am using some salve that I like.  I don't like smelling like an Almond Joy bar.  Anyway, I have so much itching on my abdomen that I am wondering if the material used in yoga pants may be the problem. 

I just looked up namaste and there are a lot of different meanings.  I thought it was like saying peace to someone.  Actually most sources say someone is bowing to the spiritual in the person they are saying namaste to. 

Clyde said if that is true then he doesn't think those pants have namaste threads.  There is nothing peaceful or respectful in pants that make you scratch. 

Maybe I should find some other pants.
