Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Longevity runs in my family so I have been trying to get my body in better shape without hurting myself.  My Dad was real big on swimming so I try to swim once a week but it is not a weight bearing exercise so I walk and Line Dance.  It has been my mistake not to stretch before activities and I have discovered some muscle problems due to this mistake.

A while back I realized I could not touch my toes so I have worked hard to gradually stretch out those muscles and now I can touch my toes.

Now I am trying Yoga with a DVD and it is quite an eye opener!  The teacher can sit with her legs crossed and touching the floor.  I can't even get near the floor.  She says to sit on a pillow so hips are higher than knees.  Doesn't help one bit!

I am determined to get those knees down but those pigs aren't  flying by the window!  My right knee is a little sore today so I have to take a break.

Maybe one of these days I will get those knees down and a whole slew of pigs will fly right by!

It seems the harder I work on promoting my artwork the less I get done.  There were two promo things I was going to do today and neither one of them is done.

The other day I asked my husband to call a government agency on behalf of our son.  I was very busy and decided to delegate a little.  He was at work and thought he could try to straighten something out on a break.

He got an actual human on the phone after only a few minutes wait and then was told the problem could be easily fixed but he was not authorized to communicate with the agency.  I forgot that I was listed as the contact person.  My husband was informed that it was another member of the family but they couldn't tell him the name.

I think after all these years my husband knows my name!  LOL

Staunton Ghost Story

Staunton is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley about ten miles from The Blue Ridge Parkway.  It is a town rich in history and some of it is supernatural.  Among the haunts are a 1890 train wreck , civil war stories and unsolved murders.

At the train station Myrtle Knox was fatally wounded when the sleeper car derailed.  Her opera troupe was napping when the incident occurred.  She lost  one of her legs below the knee, her shoulder was dislocated, an arm broken, and a piece of wood severed the femoral artery in her leg causing her to bleed to death.

Supposedly her spirit haunts the tracks and people have reported seeing her peer into the Pullman Diner which is now closed.

I spend a lot of time in front of the kitchen sink washing dishes.  We are one of the extremely few houses in America that does not have a dishwasher.

 I really don't mind.  I grew up with one and we had to thoroughly clean the dishes, load the dishwasher and then put the dishes away.

I wash the dishes and put them in the rack.  End of story.  I like it better that way but sometimes I do complain about how much time I spend at the sink.

My husband said why don't you just lay the food out on the floor and yell come and get it!
Not a bad idea!  Then I would only have to mop a little!  Another great "modest proposal from the Word Man!
