Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
I
like to lie down on Clyde's chest when he watches TV in our bedroom.
It is nice and cozy that way. The problem is the remote always gets
lost when I do that.
Last night I mentioned to him that when I
lie down on his chest he has remote problems. He, of course, replied,
my problems are not remote. They are all around me.
I knew he would say that. I didn't marry a writer yesterday.

I am not a great sleeper. Never have been, but last night was
awful. Not much sleep at all. I finally gave up at 5:30 and just got
up. Oh well. I always have lots to do but today is especially
loaded with computer and art chores so I wish I had slept. Time to
quit griping and get to work.
I really should not be
complaining. I shipped Cloud Color to a great New York patron and last
night she purchased Rolling Autumn! I hope to get that one out
tomorrow. Great to get more and more of my work out to the public.

I
am still hunched over a laptop and not happy about it. Clyde is going
to get a new mouse today. He is going to see if he can get one that
attaches to the computer. The wireless one has been a real pain in the
neck. Do people still use that expression? It has been losing the
signal since we got it. It just doesn't like to stay connected.
I
want a new rat that can be tethered. I came so close to hurling the
other one right out the window. The computer is too big to throw out
the window so I make sure there isn't a hammer in the closet. I keep my
hammers on the other side of the house. It is safer that way.

I am just about ready to do some cart wheels which would be a
miracle since I have never been able to do a cart wheel. Oh well, in my
mind I will do them and then dance. I have sent most of the
illustrations for Fiddling at Midnight's Farmhouse to Cedar Creek
Publishing and will send the rest today. Oh yes!!! Time to get back to
my work. Lots of ideas!

Clyde
does not like having a little extra weight and mentions the size of his
belly a lot, especially when he is bloated due to his digestion
problem. I tell him he is not fat, just a little portly. The last time
I said that, it triggered some word play. He asked me if I see a lot
of fat clouds do I say it is Portly Cloudy? Then he added if you say it
is Partly Cloudy, which part of the cloud?
Life with a writer. It's fun. Here is one I found. What kind of underwear do clouds wear? Thunderpants.

I am working hard at getting all the files of the illustrations for
Fiddling at Midnight's Farmhouse to the publisher today and tomorrow. I
have nineteen illustrations plus the cover and a few of my paintings on
my website are going to be used for the book, too. I have some very
expressive paintings that Clyde thinks will work well with certain
poems. Lots to do but I can see the finish line! YES!!!!!

We are still ranting away about TV commercials.
Last
night Clyde got so irritated with the length of the commercial break
that he said he could drive to Christiansburg and back before the
program returned.
Christiansburg is about a fifteen minute drive from here. That sounds about right.
Here's a good commercial joke I found on Google.
The key to eating healthy. Don't eat any food that is advertised on TV.
