I am so pleased to sell a wall art print of Mabry Mill in Fall to a great Texas patron! This is one of my favorite fall paintings of this beautiful sight in The Meadows of Dan. Clyde and I have been catching up on the great TV sitcom Married with Children. I was too busy to watch TV when it was on and didn't know what a hilarious show it is! The actors are terrific and the writers are fantastic!
The humor, especially the barbs that come out of Al's mouth, are so like Clyde's humor that I accused him of writing it and hiding the money in a Swiss bank account.
Yeah, and look at those pigs flying by the window and don't wait for me while I take a very expensive cruise around the world.
Tell me that isn't something Al would say! You know it is!

Christmas was great! Always love to see relatives! We made it down to Clyde's house without any spills of the food we brought. His mother was so grateful that we provided the dinner. She can't manage it anymore but she is cheerful as always and doing the best she can. I am so glad she has many friends and relatives nearby to help out. She is a great lady! Time to get back full force on all my art and computer work. So much to do! I am almost finished with the commission of Murray's Store in Roanoke. Still waiting on the lettering that is not very visible now that it is being used for storage. I hope everyone had a great Holiday! It has been so cold lately that I wish I were the lady in the painting below or walking in the creek in the painting below that one!

I can't believe I forgot to do my yoga last night. I take class twice a week but I try to do a shorter session every day. I was so tired I just went to bed. As I have said before I love what yoga does for me but I don't really like it. I told Clyde that sometimes the teacher makes us hold Downward Facing Dog so long I want to start barking. He didn't have anything to add. I don't think I am going to get him to take class. Oh well. I better get my mat and head on over there.

Running around in circles today. So much to do! I still have some Christmas shopping to do and Yoga class and Line Dancing class are today. I will be playing the piano this Sunday for church so I have to go over and get used to an electric piano with action that is three times slower than my great Jesse French and sons upright.
Also, the paint on the third layer of my latest commission is about dry so I hope to get to that today, too. I hope all the people in Dallas that keep looking at my favorite beach painting, Rehoboth Beach houses are planning to buy a print. I sold that one years ago to a VA patron. It is a very popular one for prints.
Anyway, time to run out the door!

I
am real excited about starting a soft pastel portrait! It has been a
long time since I worked in pastels. They are a mess but I don't have
to clean brushes or a palette after each session which is great! I
started today without a mask but will put one on the next time. That
stuff gets in the air and practically asphyxiates me. You have to
really love Art to put up with all the problems. I certainly do!

As
I have mentioned a number of times before, we are not at all happy with
the digital TV takeover that forced us to get cable or never see PBS
again. We are not about to pay for cable for all three sets, so the TV
in our bedroom has a mind of its own and sometimes has a signal but
oftentimes does not have a signal and no stations come in. We have been
told various ridiculous things regarding the lack of signal.
My
favorite is the amount of leaves on the trees affects the reception.
Lots of leaves right now so nothing comes in most of the time. Clyde
has another theory. When a chicken clucks in China, our TV won't come
in. Lots of clucking right now.
I contacted a company in China
today that keeps on stealing my images and selling prints of them. I
had lawyers try to get compensation for me but they were not able to do
anything about it in spite of the US office the company has. I didn't
mention clucking chickens to them. Just wish they would stop stealing
my paintings.

We had a great time watching Time Bandits last night at Christ Lutheran! Time
Bandits is a great History and Theology spoof that Clyde and I have seen
many times. Everyone loved it. Great

So
glad Zippy the Wonder Mouse is working again! Clyde said it may just
need a new battery. That was it. I guess that is why it was zooming all
over the screen in places I was not pointing to. It was looking for
something to eat.
I know that is ridiculous, but with all my
computer adventures it is hard not to think of it as a living creature
determined to irritate me within an inch of my sanity.
Oh well,
one computer problem at a time. I do believe in evil spirits in the
kitchen. I now have proof. I placed the one grocery bag with the eggs
and light bulbs on the table where there was plenty of room. When I got
back with another bag, it was on the floor with a broken bulb.
Now you know that was some sort of Irritation Demon determined to ruin my day. LOL!

day got shot out of a rocket! So much to do, so little time. I am
glad to get back to this blog. I prefer to publish them in the morning
but there was no way that was going to happen. Time to finish this and
then get to other stuff, including some relaxing.

As
I have mentioned before I have switched to organic food for the most
part. It won't keep us from dying but I think our chances of getting
cancer from pesticides is greatly reduced. Not afraid to die.
Terrified of cancer treatment. Anyway, I bought an ice cream and yogurt
machine because I can't find organic frozen yogurt in the store.
There
are great selections for organic ice cream but none for frozen yogurt.
Since I make our bread now, I didn't really want to do this but I
thought I would give it a try. These devices are great but there is
still a lot of work involved, especially with the yogurt maker.
The
yogurt has to soak for 2-4 hours on a cloth and then ingredients have
to be cooked on a stove and frozen over night. The machine just kind of
shakes it around and then, of course, there is clean up. Anyway, most
of the ice cream selections are twice the number of calories of what is
in the store.
I tried the lowfat strawberry yogurt and am not
happy at all. I guess it has to be eaten right after it is made. I
froze it and now it takes a chisel to get it out of the container.
Yuck! The fruit is crunchy with ice and I don't like the taste at all. I
have to leave it out for a full hour before it is soft enough to get
out of the box. Can't heat it up.
Clyde said I should put it on a rack and buy a bunsen burner.
Ha ha. I think I will take my chances with store bought frozen yogurt , smart alec.
There
is a great joke on the internet about cultured bacteria. The two
bacteria are discussing different operas and which one is the best.

didn't get the chance to paint over the busy weekend but I did today! I
am real excited over a new Skyline painting of Paris that I am doing in
stages! Below is stage one and I finished the second layer today. Not
sure if there will be a third. We'll see tomorrow!

I
looks like Zippy the Wonder Mouse is starting to have problems. I am
beginning to think a computer mouse has a shorter life than a real
mouse. I guess we just need to give it a bath. It is wandering across
the screen and not landing right without a lot of assistance which may
confirm the old age theory.
Must have dementia. I hope we can
get it back to the wonder it once was. The new one that came with our
new computer is slow and awkward and I don't even like the shape of it.
That one is a loser to begin with.
Oh well. At times like
these I like to look for jokes. There is a great cartoon with a wife
asking her husband who is hunched over a computer to help her open a
jar. His response was download and install java.

Where
did this day go? I am finally back to this computer to finish this
blog and then check on some other sites. Beautiful day! I saw it from
the window as I did a lot of household chores.
Hope I can get out there
before we get out Mountain Spring Freeze. Spring always just about
changes it mind in the mountains and then it finally decides to go ahead
with it. Looking forward to summer!

We
are now waiting on out third contact to get our lawn mowed that is so
high it could hide Big Foot. Clyde thought he saw him there when I said
the yard was getting scary.
The second contact said he would not
be able to get his equipment through our back yard gate but he
contacted someone else that still hasn't called us.
I asked
Clyde if he ever got a text back from Big Foot and he said Big Foot was
ignoring us. He is probably down at the river fishing with our third
contact.
Clyde doesn't want me mowing it because our mower is tricky to start so I think I am going to go get a scythe.
Time to take a blade and knife it down.
