So pleased to sell another print of my most popular photograph Rosy Evening at Isle of Palms to a great Iowa patron! I live to paint but I do have some photographs that I am proud of so I have included them in collections on my website. I have included a link to a face mask of this photograph which I think would look great!
I am very pleased to be working on a large painting that incorporates architecture! I have always been fascinated by architecture and took many courses while obtaining my MFA degree. One of my most popular architecture paintings is Rehoboth Beach Houses which is also one of my favorite paintings.
Now I am working on a painting with the Peaks of Otter Lodge that includes the lake and surrounding trees in the Fall. I am trying something a little different in my technical approach and keeping the second layer almost as thin as the first.
I think I can achieve more expression and color nuance with the large areas more modeled out in the beginning of the work. Anyway, it is always an exciting, sometimes exasperating experience and I am looking forward to the third layer where the arm wrestling will probably begin.

I am very pleased to sell two more prints! Still working away on my latest commission and I am pleased with the progress. Because of the drying time of each layer I don't think I can have it ready for Christmas prints which would have been nice for the patron's family but oils just can't be rushed.

My curmudgeon hubby is at it again. There was another Fix -Your- Back- With -This -Device commercial on last night we had not seen before. One of the buyers said after he used the device he took the first steps without a cane he had taken in a long time.
Clyde said that was because there was a pay check for being on the commercial just out of reach. He had to get there.
A little tequila would also help.

I haven't mentioned this before, but I do commissions and I am capable
of reproducing a photograph in paint. Photo Realism is not my preferred
style, but I will do it for hire.
This
morning I got a lot of work done so I was determined to go swim at The
C'Burg Aquatic Center. I was on my way when I heard a strange noise.
After a few minutes I realized I had a flat. I made it home driving on
three wheels and a rim. Yuck! No swimming for me.
