I am so pleased to be meeting friends for dinner tonight! I haven't
done that in a long time and I always love to get out of cooking
dinner. I am not much of a cook and all of Clyde's restrictions make
fancy things out of the question. I would probably do well in England.
I like plain food. No offense to any Brits but that is what we hear
about their cuisine.
I will get to paint. I am real excited
about my current Blue Ridge Parkway paintings! They are done in stages
based on photographs that I take. I always put so much of myself into
them that they are quite different from what I started with. I can
reproduce photographs but that is not what my art is about.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Had
a great Yoga class yesterday! I am amazed at the changes in my body.
When I started Yoga classes I kept looking at the clock. I wanted it to
be over. Now I am not yelling in my head that easy pose is anything
but easy and no, I cannot sit on my feet. Sitting on my feet was next
to impossible when I started.
I am not into the religious
aspects of Yoga, so I just don't mention that as the teacher really is
into the chanting and meditating. I have respect for it but I just
don't agree which brings me to a cute yoga joke. A woman is talking to
her therapist and she tells him that Yoga has taught her to stretch
rather than jump to conclusions.
I told that one to Clyde and he said sounds good, just don't stretch the truth.
Love it! No offense to serious Yoga students, but as my teacher often says, it is so good to laugh.

I
am looking forward to getting into the studio to work on another
Skyline Beauty painting and another Kendall Expressions painting. One
of these days I will take a break and get back to my oil paintings. I
am really in the acrylic groove right now so I will continue with them a
little longer and then it is back to what I love the most - sensuous
oil paintings of this beautiful area of Virginia! Below is one of my
favorites!

Years
ago Clyde made a comment as we all went to vote that I like very much.
He said we need to hold our noses and vote. I wish that were not true,
but it usually is. I am glad that in this presidential election there
is one candidate that I hope will get to be on the ticket but I doubt
that will happen.
Anyway, I was surprised
to see the same phrase in The Roanoke Times online news today. The gist
of the article is that Obama is receiving a rise in popularity due to a
lot of different positive factors. The writer then goes on to say that
"as many in the United States hold their noses as we search for the
next president, they're increasingly warming to the one they already
have..."
So Clyde isn't the only one that uses that phrase to prepare to vote! Love it!

I
haven't had the chance to paint today but I am getting a lot of things
done, even washed my hair! I hate washing my hair. It takes so long to
comb out the tangles. One of these days I will cut it short but I
really like long hair so I will put up with it a while longer. Cheers
on this beautiful day!

The
other day The Bird Man came to my rescue. Between my wireless mouse
that kept losing signal and the female cardinal bashing itself on the
window I was ready to throw things. Actually, I did. I went into the
kitchen and threw a few plastic pieces around the room.
The
Bird Man figured out a way to keep me from hurling the mouse through
the window to clip the cardinal. He covered the window with paper. Now
the cardinal can't see the hussy that was encroaching on her
territory. Now I know where the phrase bird brain comes from. Just
kidding. They are probably smarter than me. My nest would probably
fall to the ground.
Funny thing. Now that
the bird is not clobbering the window, the mouse is staying connected.
Were the two irritating events somehow related?
