Come on down to Glencoe Museum in Radford Va for the 20th Anniversary celebration! Here is a list of what is going on and one of my paintings will be in an exhibit of local scenes!
The celebration will include the opening of a new gallery and history exhibits that delve into Radford’s story. There will be refreshments and activities for all ages including living history interpreters, children’s activities and historical presentations.
Among the presenters will be Robert C. Whisonant; Paul Quigley, Director of Virginia Tech’s Center for Civil War Studies; and history professors Dan Thorp and Mary Ferrari.
The culmination of the event will be a special presentation by acclaimed Civil War Historian William C. Davis who will present, “Love Among the Ruins,” a talk based on his upcoming publication of the over 500 Wharton Civil War letters.

I am so pleased to sell two prints from my Suggestions series to a great Va patron! This patron contacted me about looking at some originals, too. He recently bought a condominium on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake. I will be pleased to have some of my work at that great location!
If you haven't checked out my Suggestions gallery on my website, please do! These are paintings that are only available in print form. Sometimes I like to just put paint on paper and look for images to show up and then I bring them out for a strong expressionistic effect. I use inexpensive acrylic paint and inexpensive paper for these paintings which is why I don't have them for sale but they are great in print form!
Most patrons buy them for wall art but they are available on clothes, computer items, beach items, and kitchen items. The two that were bought for wall art are Sunflower Burst and Wading. I have always had problems with popular phrases. I guess I am the stick in the mud that would have had no problem letting Latin die. We all know that if language does not change, it dies. Well, I always thought the use of the word "cool" was weird and didn't use it for most of my life.
Since it just won't go away I finally started to use it a few years ago. Like I said. I am a real stick in the mud. Do people use stick in the mud these days? Anyway, I am getting irritated with the phrase, it is what is it. I asked Clyde if it is what it is, what is it?
His response. If it is what it is it might be what it ain't. You have to think about that one but I like it!

Once in a while a troll or whatever appears on my computer radar. Today I was asked to stop posting pictures in my tweets. I have had this ridiculous request before from this person. I am on twitter to promote my artwork so pictures are going to appear in people's feed. If people don't like seeing my artwork they should not follow me so I told this person I had unfollowed him and he should unfollow me so he won't get anymore unwanted tweets. He not only unfollowed me. He blocked me so I blocked him.

Clyde has been kindly putting up with a lot of piano playing these days. I am working on recording some pieces I love for two reasons. My mother, who plays much better than me, likes to hear me play so I will send her a CD. The other reason is my fingers are not going to be able to play forever. They are stiffer than when I was young and I want to preserve some of my playing, especially the piece I wrote. Anyway, I don't have a music room so Clyde, the most diplomatic person I have ever known, never complains.
Anyway, I saw a cute joke about pianists. Why does the hare have his head on the piano keys? He is playing by ear! Love it!

No one can tell me a computer mouse is not alive. We bought a new one a while back because the one we had was doing crazy things. Cleaning it and changing the battery made no difference. The one we have now is doing those weird things right after cleaning it and a battery change. The reason I say it is alive is because it does all kinds of crazy things certain times of the day and then reverts to working perfectly. I think it is protesting all the hours I am using it and letting me know when it wants to take a nap. I will end this with a LOL but I am not kidding, just trying to keep from hurling it out the window.

Clyde and I love humor about the brain and if I could remember, there is a great old cartoon with an animal asking another animal, "Where do you get these brains?" You had to see it to get the humor but I think a lot of us would like to be able to purchase a great brain. There was a great funny on Facebook the other day that I loved. A person is very concerned that a zombie is looking for brains to eat and walked right past him. Now that is an insult! Hope that does not happen to me!

Computers, computers, computers. One screwy thing after another. I have learned a lot but if I were not marketing artwork on the net I would probably be the next thing to computer illiterate. Now my Gmail will not come in. It has not been in since last night which was very frustrating because I am communicating with a patron that is looking into buying Autumn Pond.
Fortunately there are great people to help. I asked some other artists and one said try a different browser. I did and now I can get into my gmail. I just looked up the term computer illiterate and had to laugh big time at the actual meaning. It refers to people that can't get the hang of a computer no matter how much you help them.
Ok, I may not have a doctorate in Computer Science like my brother but if I didn't know anything about computers I am sure I could learn. I think that term should just refer to ignorance of computers not complete lack of ability to use them.

I have often said that it is a good thing that all the side effects of drugs are listed on commercials but now I am not so sure it is the best approach to educating the public.
The list is so long that more and more people might think they should not get immunizations since they can have side effects, too. I do not want to see polio or whooping cough come back.
Anyway, the other night there was a commercial that listed the most common sides effects of the drug that was advertised.
Clyde chimed in with, "The most common side effect is a coffin delivered right to your door that costs a whole lot more than this drug."
Enough said. Lol!
