Well, got through another church service with shaking legs as I played the piano.  Did okay but I get so nervous.  A friend of mine that plays the organ said after a while you just play and it doesn't bother you anymore.  When is that going to happen?  I have been playing for over a year.  Oh well, I will keep at it until someone else will take over for me.

Right now there is a commercial about a drug that helps people stop smoking.  The testimony people give is that it really reduces the urge to smoke.

Clyde said wouldn't it be great if there was a pill that would reduce the urge to do something stupid? 

Considering all the counter productive things people often do I think that pill would be great! 

I'd take it!

I am real pleased with my latest commission. Enlarging a painting can be tricky, especially if it has complicated brushwork as this one has.  The original is only 6" x 5" and was painted with acrylics.  I am painting the 24" x 18" one in oils.  Oils is my favorite medium.  I hope to have it done in a few days and then send it after it dries. 

Also, pleased to sell another print of Marsh View at Pawleys Island to a great Chicago patron!  This painting and Breakers at Pawleys island are my two most popular shore paintings!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

I was talking to Clyde about how I am getting ditzier and ditzier.  I need to read more.  I play the piano every day. That is supposed to help but I am doing some really strange things.  The other day I cut the plastic to open a cheese packet, got a piece of cheese and then put the scissors and cheese in the drawer.  Clyde said one time he put his phone in the frig.  He said his brain must be fried.  Too much time spent writing poetry.  Should have been drinking beer.

Or is it Deconstruction?

Waiting for the paint to dry on my current commission.  Some artists work wet-in-wet but I prefer to add  layers to dry layers.  I think the thin to thick method of painting is the best. 

Most people don't realize that most paintings are done in layers and oil paint layers can take quite a while to dry.  Well, I will work on some others while I wait. 

Acrylics dry practically as you brush them on.

I have a tendency to work so hard that I injure myself.  Now that I do Yoga every day it doesn't happen anymore, hardly ever, well, once in a while.  I told Clyde I have a new take on the saying, "No rest for the weary".  I say in my case, "No rest for the stupid" . 

I doubt I will ever wise up.
