I am pleased that I managed another Skyline Beauty painting of Austin Texas! Now I will have five for an Etsy listing. This time I decided to use soft pastel colors. I am getting a lot of compliments on my expressive skylines so I thought it would be a nice change of pace to use a different palette. I am very pleased with the results.
My first medium was soft pastels and I know how to mimic that look with paint. Be sure to check it out!
I am looking forward to the patron that commissioned me to restore some glass paintings. He is also considering a lake commission and will be purchasing The Lodge at The Peaks of Otter. He has a print but he wants to get the original and give the print to a friend.

Well, I got my new phone. I stared at that box for a few days and then was notified I should set it up. I can't believe how much trouble I have with this sort of thing. The last time the operator had to admit something was actually wrong with the phone and we had to send it back and get another one.
I told Clyde if you hear me crying it is because I finally opened the box. He said if I hear you laughing I will know you chucked it out the window. As it turned out we spent an hour and a half trying to get it set up with an operator.
After forty five minutes he assured me the minutes had been transferred to my new phone. I tried to make a call and was informed by the phone there would be charges. So we started over with another operator, this time on a chat. Finally I can use the phone.
Now I just need help getting all the stuff from my old phone transferred to the new one. We will call a friend that is much younger than us to help. He is not from India. We can easily understand him. Yikes!

I was just looking at the oscar awards for this year and I have heard many people say they are pleased with the results. I used to keep up with the oscars since I am such a movie buff but I don't follow them now that there is no end to the type of movies I can get on Netflix and at the library.
I have found so many great independent films and foreign films that I have bought a number of them. I have quite a collection and keep adding to it. I love all kinds of movies and admire all the people that take part in producing them.
I will definitely check out the winners when I get more time, especially At Eternity's Gate starring Willem Defoe. I am a big fan of his and there are two lesser known films that he starred in that I want to order. Victory and The Reckoning. Sam Neil also stars in Victory and I think it was one of, if not, his most powerful performances.
I even have a fantastic restored version of The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari which is one of the first horror films. By today's standards it is not that frightening but it is one of my all time favorite movies. When it was first shown in Germany people were screaming in their seats. How times change!
I could go on and on. I still agree with those that think Citizen Kane is the greatest film ever made. I think the main reason I am so impressed with it is the cinematography. Orson Welles was a painter and the compositions in Citizen Kane are fantastic!
Anyway, back to my work. I was going to start another wildflower painting but I am thinking of painting a home flower garden. I love the way some people arrange their flowers.

My phone is always beeping and booping at me. It makes a type of bell sound every time Facebook adds something. When someone wants to contact me directly I get a sound that makes me think of the game of ping pong.
Anyway, the other day it started sounding off and I told Clyde I had to talk to my phone too much of the time. He said he wished it would sprout wings and go fly off a cliff.
Gee, do you think Clyde hates cell phones?

Not looking forward to being snowed in tomorrow! I hope the forecast does not come true. If it does I am putting on some boots and walking around in it. I have not done that for a long time and I always used to say if we have to have winter it should come with snow. It really is beautiful and Radford is great about clearing the roads. Maybe Spring will show up on Monday!

We are still getting private caller calls all day long and I am still respecting their privacy and not answering. We are also getting a lot of out-of-area calls, too.
Clyde said he hopes they get their area back. It must be tough to be out of it.

Our Land Line rings all day long with vendor calls of one sort or another. Some have addresses but most of them say private caller.
Today I saw a cute joke about these calls.
It says private caller so I am going to respect their privacy and not answer!
Clyde said we get so many private calls that he thinks one of these days someone will show up with a private caller hotline and put it in our house. Nothing surprises me these days!
