Wow! Facebook sure is a hornets nest if people don't agree with you.  During this difficult time I share posts that I think are important.  There are famous professionals that I think should be getting respect and support but many people are determined to call them liars and misinformed.  Some of the comments are rude.  It has been my experience that most people do not really want to debate an issue. They just want to insist they are right and you are wrong. 

I refuse to get into a debate on Facebook, especially with people that insult people.  So I just ignore the comments but I will keep on sharing important information during this awful pandemic.

Well, we are back to fighting with mice.  We used a Have a Heart trap and caught several but then one of them figured how to get out of the trap so we went back to the old kind. 

Either they are not working right or we have one smart mouse right now.  Lots of evidence of a mouse, the bait is gone, and no capture.   We are going back to a Have a Heart trap but this time we are getting the expensive kind. 

I told Clyde if this doesn't work he will have to stay up all night with a rifle and get that varmint! LOL!

I figured out what the problem was.  In the past when I edited a video, it played just fine as I was doing that.  Now there are a lot of skips, but they don't show up after the editing is done!

Yikes, what a day!  We got hacked and had to spend time and money getting our computer back.  I have no idea how it happened.  I have not clicked on anything out of the ordinary and I did not download anything.  I hope that is the end of that problem that sucked up most of the evening.  Computers are the worse time suckers ever.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Well, we still do not have hot water. I think it has been three or four weeks. I am starting to lose count.  The repair guy yesterday worked hard on it and repaired part of it but now he needs a part that will be hard to find due to the age of the system.  He has a similar solar system that is still going strong after 40 years so he thinks he can get this one going again!  We may not have to replace it. 

When I talked to my mother about it she said we would probably have to replace it. I told Clyde that and he asked why.  Because it is so old. 

I beat him to the punch line this time with, No I will not be replacing you.  Here's a cute age joke!

The bad news is that I have a bad memory and am no good at math. The good news is that I have no idea how old I am.

When I started this blog I really didn't know what to say other than stuff about my artwork which is difficult.  I communicate through pictures, not words.  After a while I just wanted to have some humur so I started this section of the blog.   I thought I would probably burn out and stop trying for funny stuff even though Clyde supplies me with a lot of it without trying.  It is just the way he is.

I am pleased that I keep coming up with funnies here.  Sometimes I do borrow from other sources but I still keep this section going and I think as long as I have a blog I will keep on laughing as I write.

To cease to learn is to cease to live.  Well, to cease to laugh is also to cease to live!

In honor of my main contributor to this section here are some great bird jokes.

What did the chicken say to the duck when it was about to cross the road?

Don't do it.  You will never hear the end of it.

I am real pleased with my progress so far on the illustrations for Fiddler at Mid Night Farms House.  I talked with the publisher a few days ago and was quite surprised at the number of illustrations she wants for the book which will be about 112-114 pages.  So far, Clyde has 80 poems but he said he can add others if I can't get enough illustrations done between now and October 1st.

I have finished the cover and will put it up soon but above is the first illustration of an expressive screech owl.  I will probably modify it somewhat so I have it uploaded as Screech Stage One.  I want to get to the first stage of a lot of illustrations so I can figure out how much time I have left to fine tune them.

Anyway, prints will be available of all stages!

Yesterday Clyde and I went to Claytor Lake for a short swim.  The sky was cloudy and even though it wasn't supposed to rain Clyde was concerned about a black cloud that was forming.  He studies weather patterns and I ask him before I check the local report.

 

When we got there people were swimming.  As soon as we plunked down our chairs everybody was called out of the water.  We waited a while under the awning and, as usual, Clyde had a comment on most people's reactions to a little water.  He said you would think the devil was coming down on them.

Today I asked Clyde if we could go swimming.  He said he read the clouds and they said put on a bathing suit, drive to the lake and see what happens.  I dare you.

It is raining right now.
