I am so pleased to sell a print of Blue Life to a great New York patron! This painting is one of many paintings that I did for my thesis. I compared the use of color of The Impressionists with the use of color of 20th century colorist Pierre Bonnard.
The thesis was both a written study of these artists and a comparison of their technique. I painted the same subject matter as I thought Monet, Renoir, and Bonnard would have painted them given what I know of these artists and what they wrote about regarding their approach to art.
Blue Life is a simple pitcher painted in the way I thought Pierre Bonnard would have painted it. I am very pleased with the strong glowing colors that are like those he used in his work. He pushed the color to it's limit.
