A Break in the Clouds is a colorful view of Rock Castle Gorge which is near Rocky Knob on the Blue RIdge Parkway where my husband does much of his research on birds and butterflies. This painting has the most complex system of clouds of all of my landscapes. I am always fascinated with various atmospheric effects in this beautiful mountain region.
Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
My husband is always playing with words which is a lot of fun for me. I love word play. He definitely married his best audience. I knew he wrote before we got married but I didn't know how much fun his word play was until afterwards. I have been either laughing or fascinated by his creativity ever since.
His latest one is on the human race. I believe if people would take the study of History seriously then we wouldn't keep repeating events that cause us harm.
Since we keep repeating errors Clyde has decided that the origin of the phrase human race was because we keep going around and around in circles. I hope we never get to a finish line, but we certainly have been capable of the end of the world scenario for a long time. Anyone that isn't aware of that fact should brush up on their knowledge of History.
It is my opinion that History is the most important subject in school. I wish everyone agreed with that. Oh well, some of Clyde's word play is more thoughtful than funny. I like it all!
