Blue Ridge Parkway Artist is Waiting for Paint to Dry and Very Ripe Fruit...
Please click on my latest Youtube! I have a very hard time getting to these but I am going to try to do better!
Most people don't realize that most paintings are done in layers and oil paint layers can take quite a while to dry. Well, I will work on some others while I wait. Acrylics dry practically as you brush them on.

We are snowed in and I am working around the guys. We workaholics have a hard time relaxing in front of the tube. It takes me days to watch one movie because I keep jumping up to work like a fool that doesn't know any better. Oh well. I love my work so that is why my butt doesn't stay stationary. I am about to jump up right now!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Thinking outside the box. That saying has always sounded weird to me. I know what it means but I still think it is a strange way of saying try a different approach to something, so I asked the Word Man what he thought it meant. He says you find a box and get inside. Then you get out and see if you have a thought. I think if I did that, my thought would be why did I get into that box?

I mailed Memphis Lights out yesterday and will begin a new commission today! A patron that owns two of my paintings wants an enlargement of one of my Suggestions paintings, Wading. These paintings are done on small pieces of cheap paper and I use cheap paint so I don't offer the originals for sale, but great prints of them can be purchased. This patron wants an original so I am pleased to enlarge one with good paint on canvas.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Clyde loves the X- Files. I am so glad they are back on! It is not for me but he really enjoys that show. I asked him if he was really an alien since he liked the show so much.
No.
Are you sure?
Positive. Too Tired.
You have to be energetic to be an alien?
Of course. How else would they get here and be on the X- Files?
As Archie Bunker would say, case closed. Or is it? Is the answer to my question still out there or in our living room parked in front of the TV?

Since it is a commission I will have to ask her permission to sell prints. Hope so! I am pleased with how it turned out and I would love to add it to my website!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Today I got nothing for this part of the blog. Clyde and I have a standing argument about the use of the double negative.
I say, if you say I got nothing then you really have something.
You are applying math to grammar.
No, I am being logical.
No, you are applying math to grammar.
Anyway, today I got nothing funny for this blog unless you think our argument is funny in which case I am right!!!! I got something!

I seem to be doing better on the church piano as it gets worse. Now there are two c sharps that I have to hit with a hammer to get them to play. A lot of keys in the treble stick a little. They play, but not evenly.
The church is thinking about scrapping this piano and buying a new one! I hope that happens. It is bad enough having real bad stage fright without having to play on an instrument with an uneven keyboard.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Last time I mentioned that Clyde was complaining he was cold since he lost his fat layer. Now he says his ex-fat is mad at him and is waiting to take over again with a vengeance! Get rid of the low-cal popcorn and bring on the fritos!
He is just joking. Actually he is very glad to lose the excess weight and wishes he did it sooner. That is not just his crazy calorie counting wife talking. He really is glad but he does miss the warmth of the blubber layer.

Got away from the computer today and now I have to catch up. Don't have much to say. My commission is coming along and I finished the other paintings. Below is one that I added to my website.
Another painting from my Suggestion series. This one is really wild. Looked like a creek overflowing its banks into the woods. Check it out!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Clyde was complaining about how much he has to wear to be able to sleep these days now that he lost his layer of fat.
Where did you put your fat?
I don't know.
You hauled it off somewhere and now I have to wear pjs and sleep under a pile of blankets.
I guess the days of sleeping in his underwear are long gone.
