The solar guy is back! The unit is still broken but we have our main heat from a heat pump. We have a little hot water from the small water tank that is attached to the main system. You have to have a very old solar system to understand what I am talking about. Anyway, he will be delving into the inside of the main tank and figure out what needs to be ordered. I hope it is not an entirely new system. They cost $10,000. If we have to pay for all the attempted repairs and a new system I will not be happy. Back to work.

Well, we have another bird trying to scare it's image away by pummeling itself on the window. This time it is a cardinal. A few days ago there was a very large blue jay just sitting outside the window.
Clyde said watch out. Even though it is a fat one it is still probably looking for more. Don't put your fingers out the window. It may think they are finger food.
He really is going to punnel me to death. Most of the time they crack me up but sometimes I groan like people that just don't like puns.
Who am I kidding! Love puns and looking forward to the next one!

I have been seeing a lot of somewhat naughty images on Facebook of Santa Claus lately. I don't like that. Kids are on the internet, too.
Anyway, I saw a cute joke about Santa. He is looking at a computer screen and sees he has over 200 million facebook requests. He says he knew Facebook was a bad idea. I told Clyde and he said the naughty list would be even longer.

Well, I shook my way through church today. I like to play the piano by myself but I don't think I will ever get used to playing for an audience. It is really hard on my stomach and I shake most of the time I am playing. I know there are others that can play but I can't seem to get any one to take a turn.
Oh well, I paint by myself but I could paint in front of people. When I taught at Radford University I gave a lot of demonstrations, sometimes in front of 200 students. No problem.
Art is my life and always will be!

Last night I was watching a program on quick sand. It was very interesting. Contrary to what is seen in movies, people do not sink all the way in and they can get out with help. They have to wiggle their limbs as much as possible to begin to loosen the grip quick sand has on people. One guy was stuck for thirteen hours in quick sand and a helicopter was unsuccessful at pulling the victim out. He was eventually helped out with a ground crew.
Clyde came in when I was watching the program and said quick sand just really sucks.
Okay, I love puns but that one made me groan.

Writing my Memoirs.

Eating raisins.
That's it?
Yes.
Later when he was getting ready for bed I asked if he had written any more.
No, Eating Raisins is the first and last chapter.
End of story.

I am still choking on pastel dust but not as much as I was. My methods always change and now I am using a gentler approach to the medium which does not create as much dust. My oil painting technique has changed a number of times and I was especially happy when I was content with thin layers. It was so much less expensive than what it is now. I am not happy now unless I use my own type of impasto technique with brushes.
Oh well. I am not only inspired to make artwork but I am also inspired to actively sell it. Can't paint without expensive supplies. Sometimes I have a really hard time letting one go but then I remember I can't take it with me and am glad I found a good home for it. Such is the life of a crazy artist!

I keep trying to keep a humorous section on this blog. It isn't easy. I now have great respect for comedy writers. Still, I love to laugh and want this section to be something to laugh about or at least smile at. Last night I asked Clyde if he had a funny for my blog and he said no.

Sometimes Clyde is so tired at night that he falls asleep in the chair while watching TV. I told him that happens because he gets up at the Creak of Dawn. I know, because I hear the dawn creaking when he gets up. He countered with, he gets up at the Creep of Dawn and he is the creep that I am hearing getting up so early. Well, either way his fatigue is justified. I'm sure I would fall asleep if I got up at 4:30 most mornings.
Here's a cute joke from someone that needs more sleep.
I already want to take a nap tomorrow. I think that is a good saying for Clyde!

More computer fun. My mind reels with sarcastic comments which is a great line in one of the Peanuts comics. We now have a new ant-virus system that is blocking things right and left. For some strange reason, it is blocking a blog here that I like very much. If Lee of Planet Earth Newsletter sees this, I can't click on your blog.
Time to get a young computer guy to help us out again.
Clyde is at it again with his crazy computer comments. When Ask Jeeves was around to get information he asked Jeeves how much money he made and where he lived. Now, we have Siri which we don't do anything with. If we did Clyde would ask Siri when would computers take over the world. Of course, she would say they already have. Yikes!!!
