Yesterday I was trying to goad Clyde into making one of his weird comments and he did not disappoint me. Since he is a bird expert I asked him why do people get crows feet? He said when people are drunk a drunk crow lands on their face and walks around. Now that is a weird one! I am watching crows very closely now and glad I don't drink.

I usually really get into plans for the New Year that I keep for a quite a while but this year I am dragging. I am going to try to get it together and look forward to all the great things that are going to happen and ignore the bad things as much as possible. There is always a painting in my future!
There is an uplifting song about finding that one song that lasts your whole life long. I found that song a long time ago along with a lot of daily clean up. Some people say artists are congenital slobs. I am a frustrated slob because I hate to have a mess around me but I don't have time to paint and clean up so I just look the other way until it is so bad I can't work.
Here's to the New Year and being able to walk in my studio!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Well, we took the Bluebaru for its first check up. Since our new car is blue and is a subaru, Clyde gave it the name, Bluebaru. I like it! Wow, oil changes now cost about $80! I don't think the car was sick in any way but the dealership sent us a notice it was time for a check up.
Maybe they wanted to give it some vaccinations so it won't get sick. Whatever it takes to keep the Bluebaru going and to keep our bank account a bank account with money in it.

Thinking about how to start another year without spending too much time on the computer but I don't have a game plan yet. In fact, I have added more things to my promote art list. Yikes! Oh well. I thought when I retired from teaching I would have more time and not work so hard but I am working harder.
The studio calls and I answer just as soon as I can get away from the computer. Here is my latest Suggestion painting. I am on a roll with this series right now!

I am having a great time with my new Suggestions paintings They keep me on my toes. It is great to just look for forms to appear in a blaze of color. I always see something in the brushwork to pull out. One time I thought nothing had come up and then when I looked again there was a fox and some bird shapes. This is a great exercise for a visual person and they are certainly available as prints. Sometimes I go into them again but most of the time the first session is the last. Here is my latest!

I was waiting for our printer to print while it booped and beeped for quite a while. I told Clyde that I could read my memoirs while that printer warmed up. He said you could write them. He is right. I don't actually have memoirs right now but I probably could write them while our printer does it's weird song and dance routine before it finally spits out a copy.

A while back I mentioned that Clyde thought the Christmas light thing was getting out of hand. Some houses are one big glow of lights. He said soon people will probably get a early start and put them on their Thanksgiving turkey. Much to my surprise, yesterday I saw a recipe on the internet for turkey gravy that had glitter in it! Glitter! I can't imagine what can be used to cause gravy to glitter without poisoning people but I guess someone found a way! Clyde was not surprised.

I am really dragging my brush today. I wanted to paint but I have so much to do that it may not happen. Hope I can get done and get in there. Painting is not easy but it always makes me smile - at least at the beginning before the arm wrestling.
