Well, once again I decided on a different direction with a painting that was fighting me and then all of a sudden it started talking to me and cried uncle.  I finally resolved the problems I was having with the spacing and atmospheric effect.  As usual, I sort of know how I got to that point but not really. 

Painting is always an adventure unless the painter follows formulaic devices.  I would quit rather than take that approach.  Anyway, there is something different about the surface quality that I am very pleased with and will probably quit soon before I over work it. 

Any of this make sense to you?  It would if you had a paint brush strapped to you like me.  You have to really love art to put up with all the problems but it is so great when they get out into the world.  As I always say,  I can't take them with me.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Yesterday we were watching a cute little girl on TV holding a skunk.  She claimed she would not be sprayed since she was not a threat to the skunk.  I had a hard time believing that and figured the glands had been removed which I know can be done.  Anyway, she gave the figures for the skunk population in the US and the skunk made me think of Congress. 

I'll bet those numbers don't include the skunks in Congress. 

Clyde said some of those skunks would scare a skunk sprayless. 

Right. 

Just kidding. I'm sure there are some hard working members of Congress but I'll bet it does stink at times in there.
