I am so tired but I am making progress. I now have six
illustrations for Midnight's Farm House plus the cover illustration.
The publisher said she loves the cover and now she is working with
arranging the text on it.
It is my husband's birthday and we had
a great supper out. I used to say dinner but I have lived in the South
my adult life so I say supper. Whatever! Cheers!

Clyde
is very unhappy about the convenience devices that are being used by
businesses. He is concerned that these devices will more and more
replace jobs while they save corporations money on wages and retirement
plans for people. They can just replace the device with a new one. No
medical insurance is necessary.
He says that perhaps in the future the robots will unite with the poor unemployed and lead the attack on the CEOs.
Well, that is much more serious than funny so here is something I saw on Twitter that cracked me up.
A guy wants to write about all the things he ought to do before he dies. It will be called his oughtobiography.

I think Tuesday night's Line Dance performance on a surface that
looked like a cobble stone street in Europe may have done something to
my knee. I keep thinking it is better because it doesn't bother me in
the day time but it keeps waking me up at night with a lot of pain. Oh
well, I figure it will be better soon. I have plenty of aspercreme.
I
now have four first stage paintings for Fiddling at Mid Night's Farm
House. I hope to get another one done tomorrow. I want to have a lot
of time to fine tune them. I am one of those people that works better
under pressure so studio, here I come!

The
other day on a walk through Wild Wood Park I was thinking about several
guys we know that suffered serious injuries while showing off, well
actually one was just taking a risk he always takes.
I mentioned
to Clyde that I was glad he was not such a hot dogger like those guys.
He said he didn't have the nerve for daring stunts. He was more like a
cold puppy than a hot dogger.
I'll take a cold puppy any day!

Since
we couldn't go swimming yesterday, we went for a walk and I managed to
get a few Monarch photos I like. I may add them to my Wildlife
photography gallery or I may turn one into a creative oil painting.
Photography is a great medium, but oil painting is my passion.
I

select? I said Einstein and Clyde said Einstein would probably say,
"Why did you bother me? I was having a great moment of relativity and

longer with us, or at least, that is the last time I mention the desire
to talk to one to Clyde.

Spiral Original Acrylic Painting NFS

I
am real pleased with my progress so far on the illustrations for
Fiddler at Mid Night Farms House. I talked with the publisher a few
days ago and was quite surprised at the number of illustrations she
wants for the book which will be about 112-114 pages. So far, Clyde has
80 poems but he said he can add others if I can't get enough
illustrations done between now and October 1st.
I
have finished the cover and will put it up soon but above is the first
illustration of an expressive screech owl. I will probably modify it
somewhat so I have it uploaded as Screech Stage One. I want to get to
the first stage of a lot of illustrations so I can figure out how much
time I have left to fine tune them.
Anyway, prints will be available of all stages!

Yesterday
Clyde and I went to Claytor Lake for a short swim. The sky was cloudy
and even though it wasn't supposed to rain Clyde was concerned about a
black cloud that was forming. He studies weather patterns and I ask him
before I check the local report.
When
we got there people were swimming. As soon as we plunked down our
chairs everybody was called out of the water. We waited a while under
the awning and, as usual, Clyde had a comment on most people's reactions
to a little water. He said you would think the devil was coming down
on them.
Today I asked Clyde if we could
go swimming. He said he read the clouds and they said put on a bathing
suit, drive to the lake and see what happens. I dare you.
It is raining right now.

I
am still working on buying food that won't harm us. We spend a lot of
money on organic products and I make my own bread with a bread machine.
Still, I have read that to avoid GMOS I need to also get organic
sugar. Clyde is going to see if he can get it in bulk since the packets
at the grocery store are so expensive.
I
hope there is no funny business going on with these products. They say
they are certified but I wouldn't put it past people to lie about
that. How would I know?
Any
way, I mentioned to Clyde that it would be nice if we could grow our own
food without pesticides. We don't even grow a few things due to the
huge population of ground hogs in our neighborhood.
If we started a garden a ground hog would chase us into our house squawking and thumbing its nose at us.

During
our visit to see relatives we had some very interesting chats with
relatives. As usual, I learned more about computers from my brother who
has a doctorate in Computer Science while I am maybe a little better
than a chimp randomly hitting the keys.
My younger sister reminded me of a saying of Dad's that my Mother also repeated on occasion.
When it comes to our mental health, we are all walking a tight rope.
I would like to think my tight rope is over a lake and once in a while I belly flop but I get right back on.
Clyde said if his were over a lake there would be a herd of elephants waiting for him when he slipped off.
Maybe
his is a few feet off of one of the mountain ranges he loves and where
he is happiest. Now, that's a nice thought from the old lady. Pat that
back!

say that even if I weren't his wife. I have always admired writers and
wanted to marry one. I never went looking for one. Strange how things
work out. He asked me out. I didn't go after him. I got what I wished
for!

Well,
this is something new. When we were away and staying in a very nice
hotel, I noticed something strange on the last day when we were packing
up.
I like to bring snacks on trips and I
brought some bags of candy and separate pieces of Russel Stover's candy
in foil. I know I brought a lot of those and I had only eaten one of
them. Clyde said he had also just had one.
There
were only two on the last day. I think the cleaning crew may have
helped themselves. I was surprised that this hotel did not have a safe
in the room so I took my small box of jewelry with me every day. I
didn't think I needed to take my chocolates with me.
Since
I wasn't positive about the chocolate I left a tip anyway. I'll bet
that crew would love to see us again. A tip and chocolate! They got
something out of that visit, too!

I am enjoying Clyde's manuscript. He really is a great
writer and a lot of the poems remind me of the Spoon River Anthology.
When I was in High School the Drama department presented a show of
readings from that anthology. We all thought it was great! Clyde's new
book Fiddler at Midnight's Farm House is based on his experiences
growing up on Ferrum, VA. and will be published by Cedar Creek
Publishing Company.

dietary quips. As I have said before, we try to eat organic as much as
possible but you can't always find what you want. I have reason to
believe that all the pesticides in our food are causing illnesses,
including cancer. I am not afraid of dying but I am scared to death of
chemotherapy so I spend extra in the hopes of avoiding cancer.
Well,
I love mint chocolate chip cookies once in a while and I can't find
organic ones so I get the regular ones. I told Clyde I hoped they
weren't too bad for me.
He said as long as you or the cookies don't glow in the dark, you are probably safe.
I ate one in the dark. So far, so good.
